Ch 3: Disagreement and in trouble

Dad finally goes to the door and calls out to Benji. He is the Healer Hall Guard. Dad orders him to go get Commander Devon and my Uncle Shay. Still in deep thought, I never noticed my mother and the Healer coming back. Until my mother talks. "My love the Head Healer says it will be most of the day to do what needs to be done for Declan. I am going to go get the extra room in our hall ready for when we can bring Declan up." My father smiled at her. "I would prefer it if you waited a few minutes, my heart." "Dad, why did you call Uncle Shay and Commander Devon here?" "I need this investigated and who best then My brother and Best friend. I want them to put up the guards in Kings Hall and Clover Hall, where Declan and your rooms are. It is a good thing the twins still live in Kings Hall with us." Looking at my dad for a second, "Dad, what if it's one of them? There are only 20 or so people who have access to our rooms and they are the top two." Father looks very angry when I say that. "Ainsley Talia! How can you even say that they are family for god's sake!" Looking at my sleeping brother, then back at my father, "No one is above suspicion of me dad, just because they are family it doesn't mean they are loyal or that they are not being threatened to do things they don't want to. Do I believe it is them? No I don't, but I still want to be cautious. You taught us to be cautious and trust your instincts and mine are screaming it is someone close. I love them both. They are family. One is blood, the other is close enough." Sighing, I sat down in the chair next to my mother. Mom rubs my arms and looks at my father and spits out. "If we are spitting out names to blame, then I'm defiantly throwing in that snake of Adviser your father had you get." In shock at how my mother just talked I really took a second to look at her face and all I see is pure hatred. I look back and forth between my parents and realize they are mindlinking with each other. Finally, I had enough and blurted out, "Mom is right! I never should have said it might be our uncles, but I believe mom is right. That man is a snake and a creep." They both stop and look at me. "What do you mean LeLe, I thought you liked Hank?" my father says to me. "Heck no, that man is a creep, I caught him looking at my ass. He always shows up after I get out of the shower after training. I had to have my uncle move my training elsewhere because he was always showing up. I have also caught him giving dirty looks at Declan, now that I think about it, he has been very happy as of late and smiling at Declan when he isn't watching."

Looking at my Dad, all I can concentrate on is how red his face is with every word I am saying. Next thing I know, I hear someone yell "WHAT!" Every one of us jump including my brother who was sound asleep. Turning around, I see my very pissed off Uncle, and Commander Devon. My cousin, who walked in right after, looked relieved. I'm guessing I wasn't the only one he did that to. All I can think about is, Oh dang I'm in trouble. You see, I never actually told my uncle why I had him move our training elsewhere. "Why the heck did you not tell me that was why Ainsley?" My uncle crosses his arms and stands there staring at me. Next thing I know, my cousin is saying "So I am not the only one who he has done this to? I also have noticed the looks he has been giving Declan. I honestly thought Declan told him off for treating the staff the way he does." Well, that answers my question. I was brought out of my thoughts when My Father and Uncle Shay' Explosed. "Why in the Goddess' name have you never opened your mouth and told us this either one of you?" Its kinda creepy when they say the same thing and they are not even twins. "Told you which part dad?" With that I got the father death glare "Any of it Ainsley, why have you not told us any of this." Now i didn't know he also did this to my cousin but knowing her she probably feels the same way i do. "What were we supposed to say Dad and when? You are both busy doing your duty to help run this kingdom. I honestly didn't say anything about him giving me the creeps, because I didn't think you would take it seriously. As for the looks at Declan, I also just thought it was because he was butt hurt for getting told off for his treatment to the staff. That man has never treated the staff with the respect that they deserve. They do more work in a day than that jerk does in a week despite being a royal advisor. Finally, both Lacey and I had enough and went and told Declan because you two were busy. He is a sexist pig and wouldn't listen if we ordered him not to treat the staff that way. I never thought Declan would get poisoned for sticking up for the staff, if that is what even happened. We don't know who for sure poisoned him or why, but I would not put it past Hank to be the one to do it, no matter the reason." You can tell my father and uncle are still upset but they almost calmed down. We knew we were in trouble though for not saying anything to them. So it was really no shock when Uncle Shay opened his mouth saying "You both are in trouble, so therefore, Lacey, you have extra combat training this week." I, heard her groan, but I perked up hoping this would be my punishment as well, but, I guess I'm not that lucky because dad opened his mouth and gave me the worst punishment for me anyway. "Don't perk up Anisley because for your punishment you get to attend Etiquette lessons and wear dresses all week." I cringe at that I hate those lessons and dresses. My cousin and I look at each other and mumble "Fine" to our fathers. "Good now on to the reason I called you guys here."
