The next morning, Mandy drove straight to EverGreen to find Bruno.
After parking her car, she stepped out only to bump into Ferris. Her expression instantly hardened.
Mandy clenched her bag strap and nodded slightly to Ferris as a greeting.
She thought that would be the end of it, but Ferris stood directly in front of her.
He looked down at her eyes. "Manda, I have something to talk to you about alone. When are you free?"
Mandy said with a stiff face, "Ferris, please call me Mandy."
Her tone was polite but distant.
Noticing Mandy's indifference, as if she didn't recognize him, Ferris felt a storm brewing in his calm eyes. "Just this once, and I promise I won't bother you again after that."
