Mandy didn't want to see Bruno, so she deliberately worked overtime at the company until 10:30 pm before taking a taxi home.
She thought Bruno would be asleep by the time she arrived, but he was waiting for her in the living room, wearing pajamas.
Mandy glanced at him indifferently and turned to change her slippers.
Bruno's voice came from behind her: "Busy day?"
Without lifting her head, Mandy replied, "Not busy."
Bruno: "Then why are you back so late?"
Mandy: "Because I didn't want to see you."
Bruno: "Is that why you blocked me on w******p?"
Mandy looked at him, shrugged, noncommittal, with an air of resignation.
Bruno: "Is this how you plan to interact with me from now on?"
Mandy: "No."
She said, "I know I still need your help finding my mother's things."
Bruno smiled faint
