Time was a b***h that slowed down for no one and did not care what collateral damage was left behind. Life seemed to just keep moving forward, no matter how hard Jace tried to delay its progress so he could try and gain a handle on things.
He had known Isabelle three months now and was still no closer to figuring her out. He needed more time to be able to break a couple of her barriers down, but every time he thought he was close, something would inevitably come up and she would shut down again.
