After I got cleaned up and dressed, Summer met me in the hallway.
“Have you seen my mom?” she asked me.
“I am sure she is finishing up outside. I want you and Emma to stay here. It is something I want neither of you to see outside. Your mom knows where you are and rather you would stay here.” She nodded her head, understanding it would be safer for her to stay here. I put my arm around her shoulders and we walked into the kitchen, where Leo and Nana were waiting for us.
