Fate really has a twisted sense of humor. I pressed my back against the cold wall outside the hospital suite, holding my breath. The door was cracked just enough to let the voices drift out.
"It's not just a simple transfusion case, Dominic," Dr. Marcus Bennett said. His voice was heavy with professional dread.
