(Caroline's POV)
"You're scowling at your phone," my father's voice broke through my thoughts.
I looked up from the screen. Dad was watching me from his armchair, I didn't bother hiding it. I simply handed him the device.
"Read it."
He adjusted his glasses, scanning the message. "It's an invitation," Dad said, handing the phone back with a calm demeanor.
"It's a date, Dad. Or something like it."
"Adrian Sinclair is a sensible man," Dad said, leaning back. "The Sinclair family controls a significant portion of the investment market. Having a personal connection with him isn't a bad thing for Lowells Corporation. In fact, it could be the bridge to a very profitable alliance."
