"What did you just say?!"
Ella's voice cracked with fury. The words were already halfway up her throat - *she's pregnant, you heartless -* - when two figures appeared at the edge of her vision.
Adrian Sinclair and Julian Kane were cutting through the crowd toward them.
Julian reached the cluster of women first. He didn't raise his voice. He just stopped walking, let his gaze settle on the woman in the blue dress, and said, very quietly, "I'd choose your next words carefully."
