Chapter 14

~ ROWAN’S POV ~ The heavy oak door slammed shut after Julian and Marcus. I stood by the window, my fingers digging into the sill. My legs were shaky from the silver sickness, but the bread and apples in my gut gave me enough fire to stand tall. Julian didn't speak. He stripped his shirt off and tossed it toward the armchair. His grey eyes were dark. He was pissed. My late-night trip to the kitchen and my failed escape attempt were clearly rotting in his mind. "You think you're so clever, Rowan?" Julian’s voice was a low growl. He walked toward me with his jaw ticking in anger. "I was hungry," I said, keeping my voice steady. Marcus leaned against the doorframe. He didn't touch me yet. His baby blue eyes were pinned on my neck. He was quiet, but his silence felt heavier than Julian’s rage. "Hungry for food? Or a way out?" Julian grabbed my chin. He forced my head back. "You were seen near the north perimeter. Again." "I got lost," I lied. He squeezed my jaw. "Lie again and I’ll lock you in the cellar. Do you want to see how traitors are really treated?" "You already treat me like one," I spat. Julian’s eyes flared. He didn't argue. He leaned down, his mouth inches from mine. "You're a breeder, Rowan. Every time you run, you waste my time. I’m losing my patience." He shoved me toward the bed and I hit the mattress hard. Before I could move, Julian was already on top of me. He wasn't being gentle. There was no pretense of care tonight. Marcus walked over and stood at the edge of the bed. He unbuttoned his shirt slowly. "She needs to learn, Julian," Marcus said in a velvety voice. "She thinks she can play games because we've been soft." "Soft?" I laughed. "You've kept me here like a f*****g prisoner." Julian grabbed my wrists and slammed them against the headboard. "And we’ll keep you like a slave if we have to. Open your legs." I clamped them shut. "No." Julian used his knee to force my thighs apart. He was an Alpha and I was still recovering from Sabrina's poison. He unzipped his fly with one hand while the other kept my arms locked. Marcus moved behind me. His cool hands slid under my hoodie, his palms were flat against my stomach. He leaned down to my ear. "Stop fighting, Rowan," Marcus whispered. "It only makes him meaner." "Go to hell, Marcus," I hissed. Julian entered me with a sudden, brutal thrust. I gasped, my eyes watering as he began f*****g me with a fast, brutal pace. His c**k was thick and hard, filling me so completely it felt like I was being torn open. "Look at me," Julian commanded with a painful grunt. I turned my head away stubbornly. "Look at me!" He grabbed my hair, jerking my head back. I glared at him. "I hate you." "Good," Julian grunted, slamming his hips brutally against mine. "Hate me. But you’ll still carry my heir." Marcus pulled my leggings down. He leaned over and bit my breast through my bra. The sensations, f**k, Julian pounding roughly into me and Marcus sucking my breast, began to pull me under. My body was a f*****g traitor. Even though I didn't want to enjoy it, I shouldn't be enjoying it, my wolf was pacing, wanting to submit to the power. Julian’s pace was relentless. He gripped my waist, his fingers digging in like claws. Each thrust was deep, marking me in the most primal way. "You’re ours," Julian growled. "Mine. His. You aren't going anywhere." Marcus replaced Julian’s hand on my wrist. He pinned me down, his blue eyes watching for any sign of breaking. He reached down, his fingers finding my c**t. "You like this, don't you?" Marcus asked. "Your body doesn't lie." "Shut up," I moaned. The pleasure was overriding the pain. Julian raised my legs up and placed them on his shoulders. He was moving so fast the bed slammed against the wall. "Tell me you're mine," Julian demanded. "Never," I gasped with a loud moan. He growled and bit my neck, his canines grazing my pulse point. He looked ready to mark me, even though I was just a breeder. The air in the room felt thick. "Marcus," Julian gasped. "Now." Julian pulled back slightly to make room. As Julian continued to f**k me, Marcus joined him. The double friction sent my nervous system into a meltdown. I screamed loud in pleasure, my back arching. Julian locked on my hips. Marcus’s mouth was on mine, swallowing my cries. Then, the room suddenly turned into a blinding white. My vision suddenly vanished. I felt a vacuum opening in my chest. A violent rush of energy flowed into me. On the bed, Julian stumbled and his pace broke. He let out a choked sound. "What the–?" Marcus froze. His face had pale and he looked like he had been struck. I felt it. Their Alpha authority was being sucked out of them. I was a sponge, soaking up their strength and their power. I felt myself getting stronger while they withered. For a heartbeat, the most powerful Alphas in Moon Haven looked weak. They looked human. Then, the light snapped back. Julian slumped over me, breathing as if he’d run a marathon. He was trembling. Marcus backed away to the edge of the bed, his hand over his heart. "What did you do?" Marcus whispered. Julian shook his head, pushing himself up. He looked drained. He wiped sweat from his forehead, his hand shaking. "It was the adrenaline. We pushed too hard." "No," Marcus said. "I felt it. My wolf went quiet. Like it was being drained." Julian stood up, stumbling as his feet hit the floor. He grabbed his pants, his face set in denial. "She’s a breeder, Marcus. A human-leaning wolf. It was a fluke. Nothing more." He didn't look at me. Marcus stayed where he was, watching me with a guarded intensity. He looked like he was seeing a puzzle he couldn't solve. They didn't stay. They dressed in a hurried, awkward silence. The atmosphere was already spooked. Julian stopped at the door. "Don't think this changes anything, Rowan. You stay in this room." The door clicked. The lock turned. I lay on the ruined sheets. I didn't feel like a victim. I felt a warmth in my veins that wasn't s*x or fever. It was a low hum of electricity under my skin. I stared at the ceiling and smiled. I didn't know what just happened but I knew what I felt, I had just tasted their power. And I knew I could take it all.
