Chapter 4: Our Mate Rejected Us

1753 Words
DEIPH'S POV I noticed her looking deep into my eyes, searching for sincerity. Cristian roared in my brain, pleading with me to mark her as ours. For years without her, Cristian didn't care about our mate because he believed we could do better without her. When I realized Cristian had been taking advantage of me all along, I diverted my attention from her. I turned to leave, but she said quietly, "Alpha Deiph, could you please spare Mia? I should be the victim, and I'm used to being punished,” I came to a halt; Cristian desperately wants to take over; the next minute, he was enjoying those exquisite moments with his mate. Imagine telling me to ask for her name and then doing things I'd never done before, "Mate is hurt, you shouldn't have left her that way. Make her stop crying," Cristian mumbled, and I shook my head in denial, "Never would I do that; you knew she didn't belong into our world, and we'd been living without her for years. I do not want her; I will reject her at—-,” "She had gone through a lot of difficulties; haven't you heard her life story? I won't let you hurt her. We can't reject her; she has no one except us—, "She has a family. I had no idea she was my mate until I brought her here; all I want is to make her my s*x toy. Nothing will ever add to it. I don't care if you take the rejection or not. She is wolfless, thus the rejection will cause her no sorrow. We'll never meet again, because she's leaving the Pack soon, anyway," I growled and stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind. I can't believe Cristian went so far just to chat to her; I knew he wanted one, but he never showed it to anyone. Even though he is saddened that we will never enjoy what it means to have a mate, he wants to see how it feels to have his other half by his side. But now he wants to dismiss her at first glimpse. Nylah burst into tears of betrayal; she had always assumed it was just her imagination. Nobody could ever love her as deeply as Ospina does. … "Why so soon, Alpha?" Beta Rashford asked, surprised, "So soon for what? I learned she was unworthy of what I was anticipating, "But she just spent 4 hours with you, and you meant to return her. Her time with you—, "I remember vividly bringing her with my f*****g money. So, why are you so eager in learning why I decided to toss her away so quickly?" I asked, feeling the more agitated. "I'm very sorry, Alpha Deiph. If that's what you want, I'll return her to Star Pack and refund your money," Beta Rashford finished, bowing slightly. As Alpha Deiph's Beta, he is identical to him. He understands him better than anyone else, particularly when he's angry. "Get it done immediately, and I don't want my money refunded," I replied coldly. Beta Rashford rose up, paid his respects, and went. ……… 5 DAYS LATER ……………… Cristian has entirely ignored me since the day I sent Nylah away. He was completely silent; I could recall the last time he spoke to me being the night I sent her go. He was angry with me, enraged, and pained; if there was anything I could use to compare how hurt he was, I would. That night, he told me he would never be awakened again. He whispered these three words to me before disappearing. … I walked to Joanna's place. She greeted me with a hug; "I missed you, brother!" she screamed furiously, springing on me, "You're not a kid anymore,” "So, I still haven't changed? What brought you here, brother?" Joanna asked me as we sat in the chair, "Cristian hasn't responded to me in the last five days," I expressed my concern, Joanna's eyes widened, "Why? That is bizarre. Have you tried going for a run? Maybe he'll notice you,” she raised her proposal, "That won't work, I tried rejecting her; I sent her away,” Jonna's forehead furrowed, making a puzzled expression, "You tried rejecting who? Your mate?" "Yes. If Cristian had gone insane afterward, that would have been preferable. But my heart aches every minute, and I feel like the anguish she's going through is too much to take. Cristian had never ignored me; he always agreed with everything I did. However, he had refused to let her leave” I whispered regretfully, "That's because he still wants her; she saw you as her vivilan, rescuer, but you turned her down. Where is she now? I urge you to go and bring her; perhaps her presence will calm Cristian's temper and persuade him to come around. If she still looked at you in the same manner,” Joanna stated, "I do not deserve her, Joanna. Why does she have to pop up in my life after I've given up hope of ever finding a mate?" I whispered with disappointment. … I entered Star Pack, and the maids walking by pay me an homage. But I wasn't paying attention as Alpha Wilson's Beta escorted me into the pack house, "Alpha Deiph, please sit. What can I offer you?" a man gestured to me, so I hit the nail on the head; "I'm here to see your Father," I said. "My Father and Mother passed away a few days ago. We have no idea what caused their deaths, and we are currently examining the case. May I ask why you're here? It would be an honor to negotiate with you, Alpha Deiph, as the new Alpha of Star Pack," Harrison remarked, a wicked sneer enveloping his face. "I'm sorry for your loss. I'm here to renew a contract. I'd like to sign a five-year contract, and my buyer remains the same. I knew you'd always be eager to sell her off," I added with a sneaky smirk, my comments perfectly accurate. Everyone hated and despised her here, all in the name of a killer, "That's very nice of you, but we don't provide such long-term contracts. Furthermore, the b***h you chose has many responsibilities—, "She has nothing to do but torture her, chastise her unnecessarily, and starve her. She is subjected to all kinds of horrible practices. I may reconsider supporting your Pack as you requested if—, "Deal; you can have her, Alpha Deiph," Harrison remarked, smiling foolishly. After a while, Nylah was brought in. I examined her thoroughly; she appeared worse than she did 5 days ago. I grabbed up a pen from my pocket, and his Beta handed me a contract letter. Nylah was delivered to me after I filled out all of the necessary paperwork. Even though she couldn't protest, I could tell she was hurt just by looking at her. … Nylah remained silent on our drive back to Moonlight Pack. I wanted to hear her voice so badly. After we got out of the car, she followed me. From a distance, I noticed Joanna approaching us, "Welcome back," she remarked, looking at the fatigued Nylah, "Can I please have a word with this dasmel?" she inquired, and I merely nodded and excused myself. … "Brother, she seems really weak. She collapsed when I was conversing with her; I believe she needs to rest,” Joanna told me after entering my room, "Can I still see her?" "No, brother. Calm down. I think her and Cristian will come around. With her assistance, everything would be great. Just give her three hours to rest, and you can go see her," Joanna said. She says further, "I have good news," and I give her a raised eyebrow to indicate that she may go on, "Your new found mate is getting along with me, I liked her already," Jonna burst out laughing. I got up and left right away since Nylah had been on my mind. Imagine if she does, at last, accept my rejection. Cristian would never make another appearance. … I waited impatiently for Nylah to awaken while I sat in the chair. She has remained in the same position for more than two hours. A few minutes later, she woke up, like if wishes were horses, "How are you feeling?" she gave me a perplexed look when I inquired, then straightened up. I got up and moved toward her since I wanted to sit close to her. But she stopped me, pleading softly, "Please, don't come closer, Alpha Deiph," so I had to stop, "Is there anything you need? Water?" "Alpha Deiph, I'm alright. It's like, I just couldn't—” she trailed off, "Are you hurt?" she gripped her right arm tightly. I hurried over to her side right away to find out what had happened to her arm. I held it fircely, "I said I'm alright,” she gave me a half-scream and wrenched my hand away, gripping it firmly to the other arm. I heard her cruelly biting her lips, so I jerked off her left hand without thinking about her warning and saw her injured arm. She attempted to escape, but I grabbed on to her tightly and asked, "He did this to you, right?" she whimpers while I yell angrily at her. I pull out the treatment box right away and dab some healing cream on the injured area. Given the depth of the cut, it appears that she was struck with an extremely hazardous whip, as the mark suggests. After I was finished, I noticed that she was crying furiously and that she was letting her tears fall freely once again. "Nylah, let me know about your concerns. I would be happy to assist you,” I made a proposal, and she gave me a hateful, hurt face. She said something horrible to me in the middle of it, "Kill me please; I'm nothing. I want you to act immediately,” hearing her say those nasty things to herself upset me. As my eyes grew wide with shock, I heard a familiar voice in my head, "Make those tears stop falling from her eyes. She despises ‘us,’ her wolf f*****g rejected us. That's the additional cause of her excruciating agony!” Cristian let out a pained sigh. Were we rejected by Nylah's wolf? She does own a wolf?
