“Edward, focus!” Martha Roberts gnarled at Edward as his eyes is bolted at the front porch, Adam’s car just left off and Kate just went inside when Martha caught up his attention. “Right.” He said wryly and went back to his laptop. Eager to finish early the only sound that fills up the entire office is the sound of the hands and keyboard matched up together as both police officers typed in their laptops. Laser eyes focus the team just mounted into their own business and just research and research. “Chief!” Roberts bolted at both of them. The two officers suddenly are into Martha Robert’s back eyes dart towards the computer screen. “Apparently someone message me about a sight-seeing of bodies being dumped in the middle of the ocean.” The three officer stared at the laptop screen which showed an email forwarded to Marth Roberts from an unknown email address. “It’s suspicious, how come that person did not call the station?” Edward asked and he directed the question to Martha whom was the only one who received the message. “And why to you?”             Tension fill up the air as both men stared down at Marth who seemed to be now in a hot seat, she feels like she’s being investigated or placed in a trial court witness’ stand, with hands both crossed in front of them she stared at the two and stood up. “Okay, I know this broke the protocol but I hired someone to follow the whereabouts of the two big mafia in the city, one of them seemed to report to me just now about what he saw. I’m going to tell you eventually when I am certain. I’m sorry.” Her guilt consumes her as she looks at the team she’s been assigned to, they are a team Higgins and her and they also have to report any updates to their Chief which is standing in front of her with disappointed written all over his face. “You know damn well that we are a team here Martha! Why didn’t you tell me any of this?” Edward’s voice echoed all over the office or probably he can be heard from outside or upstairs. “Roberts, as much as I want you out of this assignment for what you did but we are making progress. I want you to know I am very disappointed of what you just did and that is unacceptable, after this assignment I’m going to give you a three days suspension.” His deep voice and stern look gives even the angry Higgins shivers down their spines, he can be so calm yet so dominant and scary. “I apologize sir, and to you too Edward I am sorry.” She said. “I guess you will have to contact this guy, where can we find him?” Edward angrily asked her. It is still obvious he is mad about the situation but at the same time they both know that they wanted this to be dealt with and be done with it, especially to Edward that he hopes it is the Gadducci because he sure damn wants to put Adam in jail, and he will be the one to beat him until he can no longer see the light of day. “I have his address he said we could go there tomorrow morning or now.” She said. They are quiet for a moment, Higgins look at his watch and it is almost midnight then he look at the Chief who seemed to be beat up from a tiring day. “We’ll go now, let’s call this a night Chief Marth and I will drop on our way home.” The Chief only nods at them.             They all collected their belongings placed each item in their bags as the Chief placed the cups and plates in the tray, exiting towards the kitchen. They silently leave the office and went to the main door. “Thank you for tonight Chief, we will email you what we can find tonight.” Martha said looking at the aging Chief of police. “I’ll see you all tomorrow.” Chief Coleman said as he close the door behind them. He went upstairs, feeling awfully tired from everything that’s been going on, he can’t wait to retire and be with his family, and he just can’t wait. He change from his uniform to his shirt and sweat pants placing his watch on the bedside table, where there a picture of a blonde beautiful woman, smiling freely and he is certain wherever she maybe, she’s happy now and he hopes he can explain everything to Kate in ways she will not be heart broken, or maybe he already knew that it would be painful but he is not ready to hurt Kate in any way that’s why he can’t find it to himself to tell her everything hoping that she would understand. He close his eyes hoping that tomorrow would be lighter than what it is today, but also he knows it wouldn’t be, because Kate is going to a party in a Lion’s den.             The drive towards the asset’s house is a little further than Higgins hoped when Martha told him it is just around the corner from the police station, which in fact it is ten blocks away from the Police Station, the night is deep and there a only a few people walking that can be seen from the surroundings, they alleys are quiet and cars that would come by are just a few, when Officer Edward Higgins pulled over the pavement in front of a brick building along the streets that is full of salons and electronic shops that are now closed for the day the moment he step outside the car he could feel the coldness of the air even it is just during the summer. He close the door behind him and locked the car as soon as the Martha went out from her side of the car. “Where is he now?” Edward asks her, as they both look up at the brick building that from the looks of it, it’s six storey high. “This building, third floor.” Before they could step in the front door of the building, a man came bursting in the door and went straight towards them, a man who seems to be covering himself with a black bonnet hat and huge dark colored jacket. Martha recognizes the frighten man and stare at his eyes with worry, his brown color eyes looks like he haven’t sleeping for a couple of days his mocha colored complexion based on his face that only it can be visible seemed to be shaken. The moment he saw Martha a sigh of relief painted in his face. “What’s wrong?” she asked him. “Let’s not talk here, it is not safe.” His voice is so low that only Martha can hear and Edward leaned over so he could hear it too. “Let’s go to my place.” Edward suggests and the three hurry towards the patrol car. The moment they step inside the car bullets showers them, the police officers quickly acted and they dug deep inside the car as a moving car fired his gun towards them targeting someone in particular, shatters of broken glasses covers their bodies as the three of them tries to squeezed into the small compartments of the car. When the gunmen are gone Roberts immediately checks her friend that is sitting on the back of the car. The police car is obviously bullet proof but the loads of bullets showered upon them of course the glass will break eventually. There she saw the lifeless person that was supposed to give some light into this mystery. Edward hurry to call for responders from his patrol car radio.
