Her satisfaction contents her while driving far away from the Gadducci publishing’s building just be on the road towards home and just forget everything that just happened back there and never to think of that rude man ever again. She pulled down at their garage and head towards her bedroom not realizing she had slammed the backdoor and furiously march across the hall from the kitchen towards the living room.
“Trouble with the interview or upset with the door there Kate?” her Aunt Karen who seemed to be sitting at the living room trying to finish reading her book in hopefully an utter silence was just surprised by the noise Kate just made. She’s not the same happy and lively woman she once was whom almost every weekend would go out and spend some time with her friends and on the weekdays she would take care of little Kate until now that she became a woman herself. She treats her like her real mother and never had doubted her from the day she laid her eyes on her and she felt safe with her. She planted a kiss on her Aunt’s cheeks and fell on the couch heavily breathing and obviously defeated by her anger.
“I cannot even begin to describe the word I am feeling right now or the situation I just got myself into.” Her deflated self just sitting around with her aunt who looks at her amusingly and worried at the same time, she knew Kate has a strong personality and most male wouldn’t understand or find intimidating, she’s like an alpha female but seeing her right now make her wonder what just gotten Kate into that make her look like defeated or drained and it’s not even afternoon yet.
“What happened?” placing her book on the coffee table and turn her attention to the moping Kate.
“He is very rude, arrogant and very domineering and I hate him very much! I don’t even know him. But I do hate!” her anger overpowers her emotions with her hands waving up in the air like performing a declamation about hate and anger that left her Aunt listening into confusion.
“I presume you are not talking about the door.” Karen look at her with her face very calm but concerning as well.
“The person who interviewed me is very rude, the nerve of him! I hate him!” she almost punch the throw pillow at her side as she slams her fist on her side.
“You need to loosen up, what actually happened?” this time Karen’s face change into a seriousness, like she’s ready to actually listen to her, previously she was just looking at her niece in amusement but now Kate seemed really angry about the situation.
“Well, it went on like a normal interview at first, but he looked at me in a very intimidating way.” Karen looking at Kate for the first time being intimidated by someone and she really looked very pissed off too. “He obviously just wants to intimidate me, but he was precise at what he wants.” Leaving the details about what he commented at her before she ran outside the building leaving him bleeding and on his knees. “I probably won’t be working there, I might as well be going to my next interview tomorrow and hope for the best.” Kate is certain she will receive a complaint later today, or her father would call her, what she left him is a mark that he will never forget. And so does her.
“Well, do you want anything to eat or do you want to do anything today?” Karen is an all-around lady, you need a shopping buddy? She’s there, an adviser? She’s available. She’s an Aunt, s***h best friend which Kate is very lucky to have.
“I think I’m just going to head out go for a walk nearby.” Kate is a sporty type of girl, that’s why she was able to deliver serious pain towards Adam earlier, she is strong and she does exercise regularly plus a few combat skills and a few jogs every now and then she lifts too.
Getting ready to head out she saw her Aunt getting ready in the kitchen, although she’s somehow not in her young self, she too is active and making time to get into shape even if she’s close to senior age.
“I’ll head to my regular spinning class, you sure you’ll be okay by yourself?” she still looks fit and phenomenal, Karen has this regular schedule of classes she attends to with some of her friends just within the community, to keep herself busy and occupy for the day she enrolled herself in various activities that would make her active and contributory to society.
“I’ll be fine Aunt Karen, I’ll probably head to the mall after or somewhere, I’ll just call you and please don’t tell father about what happened to me today. He will be worried and the next thing we know there is a hearing schedule posted on the fridge.” They know how overly protective Chief Coleman could be, towards his sister and his daughter to the point that he even suggested putting a camera on them which Kate opposed, obviously and told him it is the most ridiculous thing she had heard which agreed upon Karen.
Going for a run is just what Kate needed as of the moment, to sweat all the frustrations out and just forget what had happened earlier, the humiliation and the harassment, in fact she should report it to her father but it could escalate to something messier if she would bring this up to her father, taking care of that thing and giving him a pain in the gut is a lesser punishment than what he deserves but for her it is enough for now and she hopes that it will never happen ever again, even though how captivating his stare and it affected the innermost core of her womanhood in an unexplainable way that she couldn’t understand why and what but what he did is a total disrespect, the disrespect she surely don’t deserve. Running for about a mile around the neighborhood somehow washed off her anger. Kate slows down her pace for a bit when she notice a black and unfamiliar car following her, a sudden impulse rush down her veins and throughout her system that she run faster than her usual pace trying to lead the car from nowhere as she turn into a path that no car can go through, going through the back portion of her neighbor’s yard passing through everything as she exited without looking where that black could be, as she enters into her own backyard and went through their back door. Unlocking the backdoor of their house then locked it again, she peak into each windows in the kitchen and towards the living room to see if that car is still there but it is nowhere now to be found then she hurry towards the garage and make sure that everything is locked and she ignites the engine in her car and drive towards the mall. She knows it is not safest place to be when someone is following you, but somehow if there are many people she could easily go and get help, she’s close to her father and she can tell everything about her but she’s worried that her father would take all this controllable things into the next level and a whole swat team would follow her everywhere she goes and that is not okay with her, she knows it will be for her own safety but having a body guard is not necessary plus it is expensive too and fancy and she knows too well it is too much for their monthly budget. Heading towards the main road she always look at her rear view mirror if someone is following her luckily there is none and continue cruising the road peacefully and head towards the mall. Just recalling everything inside her head all she could ever think of is Mr. Gadducci, has he tracked her down in an instant is a possibility but why waste his time for someone like her who is just an applicant in his company? Is it one of his father’s many enemy? Or just someone trying to mess with her? Questions keeps on coming into her mind as she drives towards the mall. She should’ve stayed at home but knowing that a certain someone lurking around there neighborhood and obviously is after her and knew where she lived while she’s alone is not ideal as of the moment and also when she’s in the mall many people could helped her but there’s still a possibility. Going through a vacant parking space she can’t help but be cautious regarding her surroundings, looking at every angle if she’s being followed or not, it is really difficult for her now to just call her father immediately when she can still handle the situation by herself, relieve by the situation that she’s left alone by her alleged stalker she parked her car safely and almost running inside the mall. She went then to her favorite coffee shop and just stays there within plain site where many people could spot her and she could also see who is coming and going inside the shop, anything suspicious and she could call her Aunt on speed dial.
