Chapter Eleven

    The night is becoming deep but the police officers are still busy with their jobs inside the officer. Karen preparing coffee and something to eat for them while Kate and Adam watching her in the kitchen.

“Dinner was stupendous Karen, it is delicious even better than the gourmet chefs back in our house.” He said holding his stomach to signify a full appetite.

“Well, you should probably get back your money worth for that.” Kate commented pouring Adam a glass of wine and pouring herself more too.

“I probably should.” Lifting the glass in the air and tossing it with Kate.

“I’ll take this coffee and cakes to them. Enjoy yourselves okay, I’ll tuck in for the night.” Karen smile at both of them before disappearing towards the office door.

“Kate.” Adam suddenly went serious and he forgets his intentions towards her, just by looking at her tonight, with dim lights illuminates her face with only a small lamp just above both of them while they both share a bottle of red wine. To him this is a perfect opportunity to do his scheme towards her but looking at her and always being mesmerized by her beauty makes him want to discover more of her. “I am truly sorry.” Is all he could say to her.

“It’s fine.” She said. She looks at him his eyes are very beautiful and his lips are kissable as if she wants them all to herself. She brush off the thought and focus on the situation where she will be her future boss and it won’t be appropriate to fantasize about him like that.

“If I may, I want to comment something about you at this moment?” he asked.

“That’s very proper of you.” She replied.

“The last time I commented about you I ended up having a cut in my lips and I don’t want to have another tonight.” They both paints a smile in their faces and gulped another glass of wine.

“Okay, go on.” She said.

“You are very beautiful Kate, overly beautiful in fact.” His sincere voice gives Kate a shiver down her spine, the look that she surprisingly want him to look at her, the softness of the look and the caring way he stares at her. She just want to grab him and kiss him then and there just silently pinching herself and preventing her from doing it.

“You probably drank too much wine Mr. Gadducci.” She playfully tease him, which she regretted saying. A spark ignites in Adam’s eyes hearing her coying him like that.

“Please don’t play like that Miss Coleman, it is getting late.” He responded obviously also preventing himself from falling on that trap where they both would probably regret, or she would regret and made him happy. “I should probably get going its late, I bet your father won’t want me here when they finish inside.” He take a sit back and stand up from the table and leave his glass in the kitchen sink. Kate follows him by look and stare at his strong back, suddenly an impulse overpowers her actions, she grab him by the hand without any hesitation and with alcohol in her system her head is spinning as she plants a strong and abrupt kiss into Adam Gadducci’s lushes lips. Feeling her body against him, the longing of his feelings for her to touch her to kiss and her and to feel her entire body just sparks flying all over them, she taste so good, better than he is expecting, his tongue travels down hers, her smell is even enticing to him. He holds her back as she grabs his shoulders and when they both out of breath they suddenly release each other and there is a slight dismay obviously in their eyes.

“I am sorry I came on to you Adam.” She said apologetically. Looking down and embarrass by what she did to her future boss.

“We both know we want to Kate. You know that from the moment you step inside my office.” He said almost inches away from her, she could still smell his inviting smell, a smell of masculinity, expensive male scent.

“This is very inappropriate, you will be my boss. And.” She cuts herself off as she remembers what her father said about the Gadducci.

“And what? That Chief Coleman thinks of my family? Kate I know from the moment he knew me back in the coffee shop, it’s okay. Just come tomorrow and I’ll introduce you to my father and your colleagues.”

            They both walk silently walking towards the main door hands brush into each other wanting to hold them but fighting the urge to do so. Adam opens the door and Higgins inside the office could easily spot them in the porch.

“I guess I’ll see you tomorrow? Should I pick you up?” he said, looking at her beauty.

“It’s fine, Higgins and Roberts and Vera will be with me. I’ll see you tomorrow and the rest of the team.” She said and leans a kiss towards him in the cheek. Adam holds his waist as soon as Kate leans back he steps forwards and plant a soft kiss into her lips.

Higgins looking at both of them can’t help but be furious of what he saw, he feels a fire burning in his gut as Adam walks straight towards his expensive car while Kate is like a puppy looking at him amusingly. As he vows silently to himself that he would prove to everyone especially to Kate that that guy is a killer, and up to no good he would put him into jail where he would spend most of his remaining life where he truly belongs along with his father and his other goons.

            Adam sits in his car with a huge smile across his face, but not the rude smile that as if he is planning something dangerous about, but a smile that would warm your heart upon seeing it, probably butterflies in his stomach but doesn’t believe such nonsense until right now at this very moment when he is feeling them inside.
