I loved working with Greg. I did not see him all that much. He was in and out helping people in his office. He was such a busy guy.
He was well loved in this town. That helped me get to know my boyfriend so much more. Being this close. Working alongside of him. I liked working with his brothers Peter and Bobby to.
Bobby was dating now. Some girl in town. I was not sure how they met.
I got to meet her briefly when she picked up Bobby to take him out to lunch. Then I knew things were going well with Peter and Jennifer since I hooked the two up.

"Hey, is Greg in the office?" Peter asks me as he comes in the office.
"Not at the moment no" I tell Pete.
"Oh, I need to talk to him" sighs Peter.
"What about? I can give him a message" I remind Pete.
"That is right. You can. Okay. Let me run this idea by you" he says as he sits in the chair in front of my desk. "Things are going well with Jennifer. She knows I was married. She knows what happened. She still stays. What do you think of maybe doing a double date? You know Jen and me with you and Greg? That way she gets to know me?" he asks me.
"You know that is a great idea. Sure!" I say. "I am in" I answer him. "I bet Greg will go for it to"
"You do? Now the next step. What kind of date? A movie date with all of us? A drive in? Or a dinner date at home?" he asks me. "I don't know"
"I love the idea of a double date. How about to the movies and dinner?" I add. "Not the drive in. You can't get to know each other in a stuffy car" I mention.
"Sure, that is a swell idea" he agrees with me. "let me know what Greg says when you ask him. Then I will set things up with Jen" he tells me.
"I am so happy things are working out with Jennifer. She is a lovely girl" I say.
"Thanks, she is I adore her" Pete tells me looking happy as ever.
He heads back to work. Soon Greg comes in to work. He has a surprise. Lunch for both of us to enjoy there in the office. He sets everything on my desk once I move the paperwork.
He even has my favorite meal for me. Tacos! And sodas. I could not believe he remembered my favorite things ever. I loved that about him. He was so sweet. So thoughtful. He paid attention to me.

"What?" he laughs. "Something on my face?" he jokes as we eat.
I smile and stare. "No, thanks for this surprise! You remembered everything I love" I praise him.
He blushes looking pleased. "I am glad you like it"
"I do thank you" I gratefully say.
"How was your day? Do I have any messages?" he asks me.
"Tons!" I sigh. "the phone has been ringing off the hook all day" I giggle.
I hand him his notes that I jotted down.
"So well organized Daisy. Thank you" he tells me.
"You are most welcome Gregory" I say.
"I am ready for this day to be over with" he yawns. "I am so tired"
"Peter stopped by. He was looking for you" I mention. I take a sip of my soda that he bought me. Cherry cola. So sweet. I loved it.
"What did he want?" asks Greg as he polishes off a third taco.
We had hard shell tacos as well as soft shell tacos to.
"He said things are going swell with Jennifer. I hooked them up. He would like for us to go on a double date together. And I said I would ask you" I explain.
Greg started laughing.
"What is so funny?" I wonder.
"I always vowed never to go on another double date with Peter again" he chuckles.
"Why?" I ask him.
I brush my long brown hair past my shoulder and out of my face. It was sure getting longer.

"Because dear girl I once had to beg Peter to go on a double date with me. This girl would only go if I had a date for her cousin. And I agreed to fix her up. Pete was not that old. He had never been on a date. I tried to make him look older for the date. And gave him a mustache. That did not work. We went on a double date to the drive-in movies. Pete messed things up. And the girls new. They were messing with us and asked us out again. The next time we were out my parents caught us. They were on a business dinner. They were horrified. I vowed never to go on another double date with Peter again after that" laughs Greg. I was laughing so hard my sides hurt.
"Oh Peter. Wow!" I laugh.
"It was awful. The girls did not mind once I explained things to them" he laughs.
"So, you never want to double again with Peter?" I ask.
"I will this time. I owe him one I guess" jokes Greg.
"What is so funny?" Peter asks as he comes in. "I saw Greg is back"
"I was telling Daisy about the last time we went on a double date" says Greg. Now Peter was blushing. He smirks.
"Pete why a fake mustache that fell off?" I giggle.
"I thought it looked good at the time. What did I know?" he laughs.
"I owe you one buddy. I will go on this double date. Should I wear a fake mustache?" teases Greg.
"No!" answers Pete and I in unison together.
After work Greg and I were talking on the phone on what Peter's plans were for the date. Greg wanted to stay home.
I was tired to. I had to catch up on clothing for the week. Greg and I saw each other every day so I did not mind. I did miss his handsome face though.
"I hope this double date will work out better then the last one" sighs Greg on the phone.
"Me to" I agree.
"What did you make for dinner tonight? I had a hungry man" he admits. "I was too lazy to cook tonight."
"I made stuffed peppers in the oven" I tease him. "you should have come over" I joke.
"Man, that sounds good. I should have. I am sorry" he softly says.
"I saved you some for-lunch tomorrow" I answer.
"You are the best Daisy. I love you so much. You are so thoughtful. Caring. I am enjoying working with you to. And I love seeing you ever day" he vows.
"Before long you will get sick of seeing me" I scoff.
"Never, I will never get tired of seeing your beautiful face" he says.
"Greg you flatter me" I tease, and I can't help but giggle.
"How did I get so lucky? I am happy I came back home" he says.
"I am to. Aunt Alice and your mom were always telling me we were perfect for each other" I say.
"They were right. We are perfect for each other" he softly says making my heart swoon. He yawns.
He was tired.
"Get some sleep Gregory" I order him.
"Oh Daisy, you know that notebook you always bring to work with you?" he asks me.
"Yes, what about it?" I ask.
"Look in it once we hang up. Have a good night sweetheart. I love you. Sweet dreams" he says to me.
"I love you to Greg. Sweet dreams" I answer once we hang up the phone.

I curiously go over to get my notebook that was on my desk. It was my agenda book really. I open the notebook. Much to my surprise was a love note in the front of my notebook. Handwritten by Greg. He was such a romantic guy. I never had a love like this before.
It read:
Each day I get to see your pretty face.
Your smile lights up my room.
Your hand gives mine a reason not to be empty.
I have more of a future with you in it to.
I can't wait to until your lips meet mine once more.
I ache each time you are near me.
I have to hold you in my arms.
I love you Daisy.
Your love is where it belongs.
With me.
Love always, Gregory.
I swoon a bit after reading this. I rip the note out of my notebook. I had to keep this. I had a keepsake box I had begun to make.
And I had the wet nap from when we shared hotdogs on our first date. I fold the note up. Then places it in our box. I sigh. I smile. I was in love. I never thought I ever could. Not like this.
