Three Days Unconscious

chapter 2: Three Days Unconscious Jamie ran through the forest while carrying the unconscious girl on his back. His breathing became heavier, but he refused to stop. Behind him, he could still hear the voices of the armed men. "Search everywhere!" "She couldn't have disappeared!" Jamie looked around desperately. He knew the mountain well enough to understand that continuing straight would lead the men toward him. So he suddenly changed direction. He carried the girl through a narrow trail covered with thick bushes and trees. After several minutes, Jamie finally reached another path. He looked behind him. No one. He continued running until the voices completely disappeared. Jamie finally stopped. He carefully lowered the unconscious girl onto the ground. "Are they gone?" He looked at her pale face. She was still unconscious. Jamie immediately picked her up again. "I need to get you home." --- Several hours later, Jamie finally arrived at his private estate. The house was enormous, surrounded by a high gate and private security. Jamie rushed inside. "Call Doctor Wilson!" One of the staff members immediately noticed the unconscious girl in his arms. "Sir, who is she?" "I don't know." "You don't know?" "I found her in the mountain." Jamie carefully placed Rolgried on the bed in one of the guest rooms. "She was being chased." The staff looked shocked. "Being chased by whom?" "I don't know." A few minutes later, Jamie's personal doctor arrived. Doctor Wilson immediately examined Rolgried. He checked her pulse, breathing, wounds, and temperature. Jamie stood beside the bed anxiously. "Is she going to be okay?" The doctor remained silent for several seconds. "She's alive." Jamie released a breath. "But she's in bad condition." "What happened to her?" "She has several injuries. Some are older, while others appear to have happened recently." Jamie looked at the girl. "Can you save her?" Doctor Wilson nodded. "I'll do everything I can." --- For the next several hours, Doctor Wilson treated Rolgried's wounds. He cleaned the blood from her face and arms. He treated her injuries and carefully monitored her breathing. Jamie stayed outside the room. He kept thinking about the mysterious girl. Who was she? Why were armed men chasing her? And why did they call her name? Rolgried Heart. Jamie had never heard that name before. He decided not to report her location to anyone until he understood what was happening. He also ordered his security team to keep the estate heavily guarded. No one was allowed to enter without his permission. --- THREE DAYS LATER Morning sunlight entered the bedroom. Rolgried's fingers moved. Her breathing changed slightly. Her eyelids slowly opened. For a few seconds, everything was blurry. She stared at the unfamiliar ceiling. "Where... am I?" Her voice was weak. She tried to move. Pain immediately traveled through her body. "Ah..." She closed her eyes again. Then she remembered. The mansion. The attack. The men chasing her. The forest. She had been running. Then everything went dark. Rolgried suddenly opened her eyes. "Who saved me?" She looked around the room. It wasn't her bedroom. It wasn't her family's mansion. And she didn't recognize anything around her. The door suddenly opened. Doctor Wilson entered. He stopped when he saw her sitting awake. "You're finally awake." Rolgried stared at him suspiciously. "Who are you?" "I'm Doctor Wilson." "Where am I?" "You're in a private residence." Rolgried immediately became alert. "Whose?" Before Doctor Wilson could answer, another voice came from the hallway. "Mine." Rolgried turned toward the door. A tall young man stood there. He was dressed in a simple but expensive-looking shirt. His expression was calm. His name was Jamie Carter. Rolgried stared at him. Jamie stared back. Neither of them recognized the other. For Jamie, she was simply the mysterious girl he found unconscious in the forest. For Rolgried, he was a complete stranger. Jamie stepped into the room. "I found you in the mountain three days ago." Rolgried remained silent. "You were unconscious." She looked at him carefully. "You saved me?" Jamie nodded. "I couldn't just leave you there." Rolgried looked away. She didn't know whether she could trust him. Jamie continued, "My doctor treated your injuries." Rolgried looked toward Doctor Wilson. "Why?" Jamie shrugged. "Because you needed help." Rolgried narrowed her eyes. "Who are you?" Jamie gave a small smile. "Jamie Carter." Rolgried repeated his name silently. Jamie Carter. She had never heard of him. What she didn't know was that Jamie wasn't an ordinary man. He was one of the youngest and wealthiest businessmen in the city. And his family owned one of the largest business empires in the country. But Jamie had no idea that the girl standing in front of him was equally extraordinary. Rolgried Heart wasn't just a graduating high-school student. Behind her quiet school-girl appearance was the most feared young mafia queen in the underground world. And the enemies who attacked her were still searching for her. Rolgried slowly looked at Jamie. "Why did you help me?" Jamie answered simply. "Because you were dying." Rolgried became silent. For the first time in a long time, someone had helped her without asking for anything in return. But she still had one question. "Did anyone follow you?" Jamie shook his head. "No." Rolgried took a slow breath. Then she whispered, "Good." Because she knew something Jamie didn't. The people who wanted her dead would never stop looking for her. And now... They might eventually find Jamie's house. TO BE CONTINUED...
