Clay rode his gelding, Dan, right up to the front steps of the house, leading a small white mare behind him. The quiet Sunday morning was punctuated by the horses calling to each other, and the birds twittering in the trees surrounding the house. Paige was waiting for him on the swing hanging from the porch, and he couldn’t help but notice she wasn’t wearing a skirt. She had dressed for their morning ride in a pair of tight jeans and a soft green western shirt that accented her eyes.
