Blaire sat on the sofa close to me as she watched a movie, offering help on the words that I was struggling with. At first, I was thankful for her help but that changed when I realized how much I depended on her to even understand a single page in the book. It was pathetic, I was pathetic. Eventually, I just stopped asking, pretending to read the words when really I was just staring at the page, turning it after a few minutes. Once I felt my heart pounding behind my eyes, I got scared and slammed the book shut after marking the page I ended up on.
