“Noone is allowed to enter!” Chad barked coldly causing the police officers behind him to take a step back in fear.
They dared not even glance in the direction of the girl.
In one swift motion, he shed his coat and draped it gently over her battered body.
“Cass…” Chad whispered softly, his heart heavy with worry and concern.
With great effort, Cassidy managed to open her eyes and her gaze fell upon his handsome, kind face. His amber eyes were filled with anguish and distress, so real that it made Cassidy’s heart flip in anticipation.
“Chad,” her lips moved as a thin, ghost smile settled on her face.
Even though she was trying to assure him with a smile that everything is okay, but her eyelids were too heavy, making it difficult for her to keep them open.
