Cassidy was still reeling from the shock. Why did he come back so suddenly? Wasn't he supposed to be away for at least another week?
But she was glad that he came back earlier. She just hoped that Adrian won’t have a fit and say something that will easily further misunderstandings about their relationship.
As everyone took their seats, the originally noisy hall fell into an awkward silence with Chad’s arrival. Adrian, who was occupying Cassidy's seat, remained silent, and the atmosphere became increasingly uncomfortable.
One didn't stand up, the other didn't sit down. Although they didn't even exchange glances, the tension between them was obvious. Observant individuals couldn't help but notice the turbulent undercurrents.
