It was around noon when Joybor received a phone call from the Office of the Governor in Bama, Zion County, Joybor was at home preparing lunch for her husband, Mr. Oliver who was a high school teacher at Malgudi Secondary School in Zion. “Hello,” Joy responded to the call. “Hello, I am speaking to Mrs. Joybor Kajoy? The lady on the phone asked. “Depends on who is asking, who I am speaking with, please? “Okay, Mrs.Joybor, this is Felicity, the Secretary at the office of the Governor here in Bama. You are kindly requested to come to the governor’s office right now, the governor might leave anytime from now.” The lady said and the call ended. Joy was confused, she didn’t know whether the call was genuine or if someone was just messing up her mind. She had not talked with the Governor for a very long time though they served together as student leaders back in college and their leadership was most appreciated. She was a determined and honest leader. Joybor joined Genosha airforce as a cadet after graduating from Madison university with a degree in Aeronautical engineering. She had always wanted to help in protecting her country so joining the cadet was a dream come true for her. Joy served in the air force for seven years when she was given a compulsory early retirement after losing her leg in an accidental shoot by one of the trainees in the camp. Joybor told her husband about the call and he discouraged her that there was no way the Governor would request to see her. He told Joy to forget about the call. Being a woman who never takes anything for granted, Joybor thought of it and decided to test waters, furthermore, governor’s office was not some place you go and never come back. She went to her husband to request permission from him to go and confirm if it was a genuine call. “Honey, I feel something about this call, what if it's a genuine call from the office of the governor, what if it is something good awaiting us in that office? I always don’t like ignoring things and you know it. Let me go and confirm it by myself. I will be back before you know ” Joybor explained to her husband. “Okay, just make sure you get back here safe.” Her husband cautioned her. She changed her clothes then got into her old car (Toyota Corolla Fielder) with a plate number ‘KAN001’, which she bought while she was still in the air force. Although the car was old, it was a ‘machine’; its engine was still perfect. Within ten minutes she was in Bama town. When she arrived at the gate of the governor’s office. The security guard asked her to produce a clearance or a letter of appointment but she had none of them. This was even more discouraging. Joybor decided to call Felicity to explain to her the situation. Within no time, a call was made to the security guard and he allowed Joybor to get in. “I am sorry madam for stopping you, I was just doing my job, you have been cleared. You can go in now," the security guard apologized to her. Joybor packed her car in the parking lot between two new Mercedes Benz then she went straight to the governor’s office. Workers who were roaming around looked at her parking her between the two Mercedes and just smiled. When she arrived at the office of the secretary to the governor, she found many people inside, so she asked for Mrs. Felicity. “Excuse me, madam, I am looking for Mrs. Felicity the secretary to the governor.” She asked one of the ladies. “Hello Madam, good afternoon, who are you?” The lady asked her. “I am Mrs. Joybor Kajoy, I received a call from Mrs. Felicity like twenty minutes ago asking me to come to the governor’s office. She didn’t say the nature of the visit.” Joy replied. “It’s, Miss. Felicity Madam not Mrs. and you are speaking to her right now.” The two were both surprised, Joybor was not expecting Felicity to be that young, Felicity was as well struck to see Joybor walking with a walking stick. Felicity removed a brown envelope and handed it over to her. “Mrs. Joybor Kajoy, you have been served by the governor himself, he just left like ten minutes ago, there was something urgent he had to take care of,” Felicity said, handing the brown envelope to her. “What is the content of the letter please?”Joybor asked curiously. “I have no idea. Asking such questions is above my pay grid madam.” Felicity replied. Joybor was so afraid, she didn't open the letter, she put in her bag then left the office and drove back home. When she arrived home, she found her husband cooking because she left some food uncooked. She told her husband that she didn't find the governor because she was late, but governor left a letter for her which she was afraid of opening . Mrs.Oliver asked her to give him the envelope to open it for her. Joybor handed the envelope to him. Oliver unveiled the envelope, took out the letter and skimmed through it then smiled at Joybor
