Chapter 13: The Codex

Two days after the assassination at the clandestine ball.........Lily-Ann and Lorenzo's POV...

Tribunal Summon

The Clandestine Union Board ( CUB) summons Soraya De'luca of the Itallian Clandestine family and heir to the De'luca thrown, before the power of the tribunal to face unfounded claims pertaining to the death of one Antonio Reveara of the Brazillian drug family and sole heir to the Reveara thrown.

The accused was place before the preliminary by one Cindy Owana Reveara, widow of Antonio Reveara and also by Annabelle Moassi bearing the seal of their familys and that of the Pratt family as with keeping to the code.

Lorenzo could not believe what he had just read, he has called for his wife Lily-Ann who was just entering his office. she shut the door and walked over to her husbands desk, she could see fire in his eyes.

" what's going on i came as quick as i could" asked Lily

He handed the egg shell paper in his hands to her all the while keeping an eye on her face. Lily- Ann read the paper and for about a minute she said nothing then her anger got the best of her

" you cannot allow this to happen Lorenzo, i will not stand by and do nothing" shouted Lily-Ann

" its legit Lily it bears the seal of three clandestine family and once there is 3 they have the power to call a tribunal section 5 of the code book state that much, a tribunal can be call by the chairman of the board if he acquires evidence of fowl play rules breaking or any antics that goes against the rules of the CUB, the only other way to get a tribunal is with the seal of three members of the clandestine not needing proof but enough circumstance to warrant a just hearing "

" this is out of my hands Lily, don't you think if there was a way around it i would have taken it' came Lorenzo's uneven tone

" there is and you know it, the rules be damn. We both know there is no hard proof here its only circumstancial" she shot back at her husband has she sat in the sofa in his office.

" if i try to shut this down it could cause more harm than good, she is my daughter and i have to thread lightly with this one for all our sakes, i cannot just bury it" he said through a sigh

Lorenzo was now standing at the window in his office he had a cigar in his hands relishing the pure tobacco on his lips.

" its not just about Raya and you know it, my leadership is been challenged and they are just waiting for me to make a mistake so they can unseat us, i should have saw this coming, if its any ones fault its mine I've let my guard down" he continued saying

" well am not here to cast blame, i just want this rectified and the persons behind this scheem's head on a pike because i damn well know this ain't Annabelle's doing or that girl Cindy who no one knows much about but was willing to give life to her claims"

" speaking of Cindy that girl gives me a bad feeling Lorenzo we didn't even know Antonio was married even if we weren't invited to the wedding a clandestine member would receive word and we would gift the happy couple but this was a ghost wedding" she continued to say

" you are right about that, all of this stinks of a conspiracy but to what ends, what agenda could this young girl have towards us or who could be pulling her strings. It seems we may have a new enemy or old ones are working from the shadows to undo us" he said

" what about the Pratt's? their seal is on this as well and they have enough reason to want to unseat us, for Howard pratt as always felt as though is family should be the head, all because they were apart of the main 6 and the true founders"Lily-Ann stated

" or it could just be that its there because His son Liam is banging Annabelle Moassi and they needed a third making this Liam's doing and not Howard's" came Lorenzo's uncertain tone

" then what do you propose we do then" she asked

" lets handle this with caution i don't want to go making claims without proof if Howard didn't do this then i'll be expecting is call if he doesn't call then we have our answer for i believe all CUB member would have received a copy of the summon by now" he said

Lily-Ann pursed her lips watching her husband, she knew this was a mine field one she couldn't let him walk through alone hoping that what she was about to say next would be the time to say it.

" i think its time we called her, this situation is a ghost and its even is required" lily said tapping her fingers on the arm of the sofa

" i think you have a point, i believe she would already be aware of this by now, she will not be easy to reach but just to be curtain i will do just that" he replied

" very well Ive got to go see if i can lobby the queens of this snake ground for they may just be the key to a favourable vote" lily Ann said walking from her husbands office.

" don't forget i'll have to preside over this farce" Lorenzo shouted to his wife retreating form with a laugh, but before she was out of hearing distance he heard her laugh...

Mr. De'luca took is phone from his desk and soon there came a soft hello from his daughter.

"Soraya you need to come home now!", he said,

" why what's wrong?" she asked him,

" Cindy Owana Reveara and Annabelle Moassi has made a claim that you are responsible for Antonio Reveara's death" he said feeling the weight of his words,

" are you joking", Soraya asked him,

" no Raya this is not a joke come home for you've been summoned before the CUB tribunal.

Terrence's POV

Sitting in his car outside the Italian CUB headquarters, Terrence awaited Naomi and Travis's arrival, his father was already seated and awaiting the start of the tribunal, he tried to get a hint as to where is fathers decision would lean but Trimone had let nothing slip.

Has he sat in the car with corey still in the driver seat he could see the other members driving onto the priemesis, he saw Harrell Achebe the Nigerian mob boss and his family, Vivian Santos the dragon of Greece, Oneal Pent the yellow snake from Jamaica he even saw Paldo Garcia the Mexican drug lord.

It seems today will be one hell of a day the only thing it was missing was lucifer and just has he was about to think the devil would not show he saw her all dress in white, it was such a irony to see the devil bask in the apparel of purity. It was so ironic it made him laugh.

There was a ping alerting him to a message on his phone he quickly took it up thinking it was either Naomi or Travis but it was neither.

There is so much i want to say but not much time to say it, you have been the hatred that lines my very been but you are also the hope that strengthen my fight, its scarey how u can care for a person so much you could alter humanity to see them smile but loath the very air they breath and you Terrence, has been my greatest struggle.

when you entered my life as a child I fell in love with you the moment I gazed upon those blue gems, but after you pushed me away i buried those feeling under six feet of soil vowing to never unearth them, but since you strolled back into my life, those feeling pulled them selves from the ground and has tormented me in ways I daily denied.

Terrence read with baited breath, he wondered if Soraya was having a break down or the pressure was too much for he would never believe she felt all this by the time he was finish reading it had hit him why she had sent him this.

It was a goodbye note, there was a tap on his window and when he looked up it was Naomi and Travis, Corey got down from the car and allowed them to get in, as to also give them some privacy to discuss things.

Terrence bearly waited for them to settle in the car before he said

" she is going to sacrifice her self"

" what do you mean, who is going to sacrifice them self" Naomi asked looking extra worried if that was even possible with everything that's going on.

" Soraya, she's going to invoke the snake eye and fire affirmation" Terrence said

" the what??!!" blurted both Travis and

Naomi

" how do you know this" Naomi asked

" how i know is not relevant at the moment" Terrence was not sure he should show such a personal text to Naomi and Travis regardless but it had more to do with Travis's feeling for Raya

" its a really old code from the early 1800's it hasn't been used in years but it was never removed from the code or amended so its still viable" Said Terrence in a ace breath

" we have to stop her" travis said

" she thinks there's no other way out and to protect her family she will do anything we have to let her know we have a plan" Said Naomi

" call her now" Travis shouted at Terrence

Ring,!! ring!, ring!, ring!!, but there was no answer

" ill try her from my phone" said Naomi but there was still no answer

" this is all my fault, i should have let her known we were working to clear her name but with everything i thought she would show up and fight because that's who she is a fighter she probable think i abandon her" Naomi cried

" no ones giving up yet we still have 10 minutes and they have not arrived yet some one should wait for them" Terrence said

" i will, you guys go in and take your seats, im the closet to her so it should be me" said Naomi

They exit the car and they both walked up the steps and disappeared into the building

When they got to the grand trial chambers it was massive and filled with clandestine members and their families, Terrence found his seat next to his father while Travis went in search of his.

" so glad you decided to show your face" Trimone said as Terrence sat down

" i wouldn't miss it, it seems the clandestine is trilled about this tribunal there hasn't been one in ages" replied Terrence

" No there hasn't, but its such a shame its for a younglin i had hoped one of these cancer hunch back one week away from the old age home pest, would dignify us with there treason so we can summon their deaths" Trimone said with venom

" but father if there already an inch from dying why care to execute the" Terrence asked

" that is because you have never been to an execution son, the experience is even better than s*x" Trimone responded with a glim in his eyes and a smile on his lips

" we really need to get you a girl friend dad " Terrence muttered under is breath then turn to scan the area for Travis and Cindy.

And just as he spotted them his breath stop he could tell she has entered the room even without seeing her he knew.

Naomi's POV

It seems as if she had just traded places with Soraya, for her bestfriend as always been her strength and she was the weak link but in some ways it felt good that she could be the rock for Raya for she has been her's since she was thirteen.

The black range rover pulled in and Naomi knew instantly it was Raya for every one else has arrived, Lily-Ann and Renzo first step out of the car, it took a while before Soraya emerged from the back seat but as she step out Naomi rushed her.

" it great to see you" she said

" its wonderful to see you as well, how have you been" Soraya asked

" i should be the one to ask you that, and what the hell are you think Raya the snake eyes and fire affirmation, really Raya" Naomi said

Soraya was caught off guard because she did not know how Naomi knew what she was planning and it was not just Naomi who was surprise because Lily-Ann almost chocked on air.

" what is Naomi talking about Soraya?" Lily-Ann asked

" nothing mom" Soraya replied

" don't tell me that because i am well verse in the code and guideline and i damn well knew what that means, so please don't insult my intelligence Raya" said Lily-Ann

" she planning on invoking it Mr. De'luca i know because Terrence told me" said Naomi to Lily-Ann

When Naomi mention Terrence's name Lily-Ann eyed Soraya suspiciously, and Naomi could not help noticing this.

" Soraya i know you love your family but we have a plan, please trust us.you have always been there for me let me return the favour this time please" Naomi plead

" who is this we you speak of Naomi?" Soraya asked

" Travis, Terrence and I, there is no time to fully explain but please trust us" Naomi continued to plea

But Lily-Ann interrupted them saying they best go in now its time. They walk into the Tribunal area and Naomi went and find her seat so did Renzo who still haven't said anything all through the discussion out side.

Once Soraya and Lily-Ann took their seat up front with the Reveara family, Mr De'luca walked in and every member stood in respect for their chairman and once he took his seat above the whole clandestine community he said,

" The Clandestine Union Board Tribunal for the Accused, Soraya De'luca brought forth by Cindy Owana Reveara and sealed by Moassi and Pratt, will now commence"

There was nothing but silence throughout the whole hall, and Naomi could feel her pulse jump out of her skin for it was time to face this head on she hoped all that they had done would save Raya from her faith it just had to because she couldn't see a world without her bestfriend in it.
