I stared at nothing in particular wondering what the hell just happened. I was hoping to see Maya at work today but I sure as hell didn’t expect her to quit work.
When I asked if yesterday meant nothing to her, it pained me more than when Chloe broke my heart after I heard Maya make up a very silly excuse.
I knew I deserved her outburst after the way I treated when she came to our family house but I didn’t expect that she would take this far.
“Well, that went….” Chloe wanted to continue but I didn’t give the opportunity. I pushed her out of my office and locked my door.
