We arrived unscathed at the hospital, and I slid out from behind Declan onto shaky legs, my hands trembling so badly that I couldn’t undo the catch on the helmet. Declan chuckled as he reached out and removed the helmet for me, attaching it to his bike before turning his gaze to me. ‘See, it wasn’t so bad’ he said cheekily. My eyes widened at him, ‘I never want to do that again’ I whispered stumbling slightly as my body instinctively tried to put space between me and the death trap on wheels. Declan patted the gas tank frowning slightly, ‘it’s OK Delilah, Cass doesn’t mean it’ he crooned to his bike, ‘she likes you really.’ I gawk at him, ‘you named your bike Delilah?’ I asked, momentarily pulled out of my sinking pit of horror.
