Joan’s P.O.V The cell was colder than i remembered. Stone walls, damp floors, and the scent of old blood clung to everything. But none of it mattered, not when Raven was with me. His hands were in my hair, his mouth pressed against mine like he was trying to memorize the taste of me. Every kiss was desperation. Every touch was a cry for time we no longer had. “I don’t care what they say,” he whispered against my lips. “You’re mine. Vampire or not. Monster or not. I will burn this place down before i let them take you.” A sob escaped my throat. I didn’t deserve him. Not after what i did. That guard… He hadn’t even seen it coming. I didn’t want to kill him.
