Could my suspicion be true? I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off about Joan. She had suddenly accepted Raven, despite making it clear she wanted nothing to do with him. What had changed? I wondered.
My gaze turned to her as she looked at Kai lovingly. And that made me realized she must be here for him.
“Should i get you another portion Kai?” I cut her off immediately.
“I can do that myself.” I muttered.
