The castle is dimly lit as Ruby and Karson head to their kid’s rooms to tuck them in before returning to their own room. Alec and Anna are already dressed in their pajamas, have brushed their teeth and are quietly laying in their beds. Ruby strolls over with her pregnant belly to Anna as Karson does the same to Alec, they place kisses on their foreheads before switching to do the same to the other.
“Goodnight my sweet ones.” Ruby says to her children.
“Goodnight mommy, goodnight daddy.” The twins said in unison before Ruby and Karson left the room. They walked hand in hand, embracing the peacefulness that they had longed for, for too long. Never really fearing the darkness that lingered so close, Ruby and Karson slipped into their bed awaiting the next day.
