"Aaron gave this,"
Said the guy who was sitting on the desk behind me, handing me a chit as I turned around on being pulled on my hair.
Turning back, I discretely opened the note without Ty noticing. It read, 'Do you have any idea why Mr Jacob asked us both to stay after class?'
'Probably to ask you if you faked that headache.'
I wrote and passed back the note. Apparently he really had a headache on Saturday morning. He wasn't faking it to not attend Asher's tutoring, although me might have exaggerated it. A minute later I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around to receive another little note.
'I think he is planning to make that jerk tutor me this Saturday. If he ask you about his teaching, make sure to give a very bad review.'
I turned around and gave Aaron a thumbs up. He smiled at me, leaning back against his seat in the last row.
I then averted my attention back to the board and resumed doing what I had been doing before I got the note. I had been pondering about whether to post that video today or not. I just came to know Ty's match is on Wednesday, that is day after tomorrow. Ty wants to win the match. If I post the video now, it might affect Asher. Don't know what all will be the consequence of the video. So, I think I should wait until the match is over.
It was lunch break after the hour and everyone happily rushed out as soon as the bell rang. I and Aaron stayed in the class while Ty waited for me outside.
"Asher said you guys covered three chapters on Saturday. I wonder how you did it in such a short time. Were you able to understand him very well, Miss Turner?" Mr Jacob asked me as we both stood in front of his table.
"Er..to be honest Mr Jacob, he was going a little fast. It was like he wanted to somehow finish the task quickly. I couldn't really understand anything," I replied, causing him to frown at me. "Er...I agree that senior is a maths genius. But he expects me to be at his level. So, uhm..I couldn't grasp many things he explained."
"I see.." Mr Jacob finally muttered, pressing his lips together. "So, do you want me to assign someone else to help you?"
"Oh, no need sir. I actually like self-study. I went back home and tried to learn differentiation myself. And I could understand everything and solve the problems," I replied smiling, trying to sound genuine.
"Then I hope you can do well in the next class test. What about you Aaron?" He asked averting his gaze to Aaron while I nodded my head.
"I'll also study myself," he replied.
"Oh I don't trust you with that," Mr Jacob shook his head. "I was thinking to make Asher tutor you one hour everday after class. But now I think I'll better assign you someone from this class. I'll let you choose. So, whom do you want, Aaron?"
Aaron tilted his head and looked at me. I knew the very instant what he was planning in that head of his.
"Why are you looking at her? Pick someone who is good at maths."
Aaron tilted his face back and gave Mr Jacob a smile, a smug one. "Mr Jacob, since you badly want me to pass in your subject, I guess I'll choose the class topper itself."
"You mean Tyler Martin?"
"Yeah," he nodded.
"No way!"
That was none else than Ty. I turned to see him standing at the doors, looking totally pissed.
"Oh, you were here? Come inside, Tyler," Mr Jacob motioned to him. He walked inside, glaring at Aaron before turning his gaze to our teacher.
"I object, Mr Jacob. I can't tutor him."
"May I ask why?" Mr Jacob frowned at him.
"Because...er..I've basketball practice evening. After that I'll be tired. And also, I've assignments to write and a lot of portions pending to study myself."
"You just need to tutor him only one hour everday, Mr Martin. And you can also revise those portions while teaching him."
"But.." Ty started but was cut off by an over excited Aaron.
"And Mr Jacob, Caroline is Tyler's cousin sister. They both live in the same house. So the three of us can do learn maths together!"
"Oh! I didn't know that. You are Tyler's sister?" Mr Jacob exclaimed, looking at me surprised. I nodded to him.
"Great! Let's make it a combine study then. No big deal, Tyler."
I tilted my head and looked at Ty. His expression was not at all happy.
"So, from today onwards, the three of you will be doing combine study one hour every day at Tyler's home," Mr. Jacob said and Ty's eyes widened.
"You've got to be kidding me," he muttered but was enough for Mr. Jacob to hear.
"What did you say, Mr. Martin?" He asked.
"I said I'm not ready to do combine study with this.."
"This what?" Mr. Jacob challenged furrowing his eyebrows, not at all pleased with Ty's sudden outburst. Ty didn't reply anything but shifted his weight uncomfortably on his legs.
"So, it's settled," Mr. Jacob said.
"But...I- I have basketball match on Wednesday," Ty tried to protest.
"Then, Wednesday, you can take leave from combine study," Mr. Jacob said.
"But I.."
"No buts. You are doing this," Mr. Jacob said sternly. Ty at last nodded, biting down on his lips.
I looked at Aaron and he was looking like a child who just got extra candies. His eyes were brighter than pearls and he had a wide smile on his lips.
"Okay, you guys may leave now," Mr Jacob dismissed us. Ty instantly stormed out, not bothering to wait for me.
"Why are you smiling? I don't think this is anything great. You just got him really angry," I said as the two of us exited the class. Aaron still hadn't stopped his stupid smile.
"At what time should I come?" He asked, ignoring what I just said, his smile only widening further.
I couldn't help but let out a chuckle, seeing his bunny teeth and dimples. "I don't know. 6 Pm?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah..okay," he smiled again brightly.
"Ah you handsome devil! You did it smoothly," I smacked his arm.
"Handsome devil?" He laughed.
"Oh c'mon, what else are you? You have all the girls in this school at your feet."
"And you too?"
I titled my face to see him smirking at me with a raised eyebrow. "Wow! Stay like that! Don't move!" I instantly squealed, taking him by surprise. "Let me take a good look at you," I took a step back, throughly checking him out from head to toe. Then I scratched my chin and dramatically shook my head. "Er..I wonder if all the girls here are blind. Seriously, why would they go after a stupid looking human rabbit?"
"Wow! Really?" His mouth dropped open.
"No offence," I chuckled at him and walked away, leaving him behind utterly shocked.
There was only me and Ty at home when the doorbell rang at about 6 PM. I was simply lying on my bed in my room, scrolling through my phone. Since I was sure it was Aaron, I decided to let Ty go and open the door.
But after a second, my room door clicked open and Ty came walking in with his hands tucked inside his pockets. "Go, open the door," he said, looking at me.
"You go open. It's your house," I said sitting up, sheepishly.
"You go let him in or he will stay there," he said blankly, making me groan inwardly.
"Okay, I'll go get him. You go and arrange your table then."
"No way!" he shrieked. "Tell him to stay in the living room. He isn't coming upstairs."
"Oh C'mon Ty...", I groaned.
"Shut up! I don't even like him stepping inside my house. So, stay downstairs. I'll bring the books," he said sternly. I sighed and crawled out of my bed, walking out of the room. At least he decided to let Aaron in. It's already a big deal.
I skipped down the stairs and went to the front door, pulling it open to reveal Aaron standing with his signature bunny smile, his black leather bag slinging on his left shoulder. He was looking hot in total black, black skin-tight jeans, a grey t-shirt, and a black shirt over it.
"Hey," he said waving his hands in front of me.
"Hi, come in," I smiled and moved from the doors to let him in.
"Where's Ty?" he whisper asked me, bending down a little to reach my level. Before I could answer, his gaze traveled backward and his lips curved upward, making his dimples visible. I turned to see Ty walking down the steps with a few books and pens in his hands.
"Seems like he is so eager to teach me," Aaron whispered to me.
"He is so determined to not let you upstairs. That's why," I replied.
Ty came down and placed the books and pens on the coffee table without glancing at Aaron. "Sit down," he then said in his deep husky voice before slumping himself down on the single couch. I bit back a laugh and motioned Aaron to sit down on the big couch. Aaron obliged, smack down on the center of the couch. I slumped down beside him, taking my notebook from the pile.
"Okay, let's start from the first chapter," Ty cleared his throat awkwardly.
Aaron nodded and immediately pulled out his maths textbook, notebook, another rough notebook, a pencil box, geometric box, a calculator, a logarithm table, and finally a long scale, one by one out of his bag, afterward dropping the bag on the floor with a jubilant smile. I couldn't help but let out a chuckle.
"Let's start??"he asked excitedly, opening the first chapter and looking at Ty with big doe eyes.
"Trigonometric functions. It's an easy chapter," Ty said looking at me. I and Aaron nodded. "Er...let's first study about angles," he stuttered awkwardly. Again we both nodded.
He started explaining about angles and his speech continued to be awkward. I soon found myself getting bored listening to him. But Aaron was eagerly nodding to him after every word, although Ty was only looking at my face. Honestly, I've never seen Aaron so enthusiastic before. I'm sure he would score full marks in maths if Ty teaches him properly.
"Now let's do some problems," Ty said.
"Okay," Aaron nodded, taking out his notebook and pen. I also opened my notebook and flipped it to a fresh page.
"25°, find the corresponding radian measure," Ty instructed. Aaron instantly started calculating. He raised his hands after a few seconds while I was only starting to write down the question. I looked at his notebook and found that he had got the answer right. But Ty just ignored him and looked at me.
"I haven't finished. Why don't you look at Aaron's answer?" I asked him.
"Yeah, see if I got it right," Aaron tugged on his sleeves, enthusiastically.
"Don't touch me," Ty turned and glared hard at him. "And don't call me Ty."
Aaron's smile instantly faded. "Sorry," he mumbled, crossing his hands over his chest.
Ty sighed and finally made a glace at his notebook. "Hmm...that's right, now solve the questions in the exercise 1 of our textbook." Aaron nodded and proceeded to do what he was told.
Just as I finished solving the first question, I heard my phone ringing in my room. As I was about to get up, Ty stopped me. "Do you need to pick it now?"
"Yeah, maybe it's someone important," I said and stood up from the couch before running upstairs.
My phone stopped ringing just as I reached my room. I picked it up and looked at the call log. The recent call was from an unknown number which looked strangely familiar.
Before I could wonder who it might be, the phone started ringing again in my hands, showing the same number.
"Why did you tell Mr. Jacob, you didn't understand anything I taught?" a cold voice echoed in my ear just as I answered the call.
"Because I didn't understand anything you taught?"
"Why are you lying?" He sounded hurt. "You seemed to understand everything perfectly well last day. I know you left without finishing, not because you couldn't understand me."
"Then why do you think I left?" I asked. He didn't have a reply.
"I wonder what your problem really is. You said you hated seeing my face and it was great trouble teaching me and Aaron. Now shouldn't you be happy since you got removed from the task?"
"Yeah, thank you so much relieving me from your free private tutor post. But you should have at least given me some credits for spending my three hours on you, if it was too big a deal to say thanks."
I couldn't help but let out a chuckle at that. "Say thanks? What for? I didn't ask you to teach me. And honestly I didn't understand anything you said. It was just a waste of time. And now we have started studying it again. Me, Ty and Aaron together. And there you are again calling me to ruin our combine study! So if you don't have anything else to say, just hang up."
He let out a laugh. "Do you really think I'll believe you? I know Ty. He won't spend a minute with Aaron. Maybe it's just the two of you doing combine study or whatever at Aaron's home."
"I don't care if you believe or not. Go to hell, Asshole!" I said and ended the call.
Throwing the phone back at the table and leaving a sigh, I walked out of my room to hear Ty yelling at Aaron.
"Seriously? Are you that dumb? This is the easiest portion of this chapter and if you can't do it, then how are you gonna solve the tough problems that are to come?"
Walking down the steps, I quietly watched Aaron click his tongue on his cheeks. Except that he didn't say anything as Ty continued.
"Okay, tell me, can you do this problem or not? Or should I tell Mr. Jacob that you aren't cooperating and I can't teach you?"
This time, Aaron shot a glare at him.
"Why are you looking at me like that? You aren't liking my tutoring? Then get out of my house," Ty scoffed. I know his intention is to somehow provoke Aaron and make him leave the house himself. Aaron was clever enough to understand that. So he sat there quietly, letting Ty babble whatever he wanted.
"And listen, my tutoring method is like this. If you get the answers wrong, you'll receive punishment," Ty said and picked up Aaron's long wooden scale, making him gulp.
I quietly slipped back into the couch just as Aaron started to solve the questions again. A minute later, a hard strike fell on his left thigh all of a sudden and he yelped out loud while I flinched in surprise.
"That answer is wrong," Ty said nonchalantly as Aaron groaned, rubbing on his thighs.
"Ty!" I called
"What?" He glared at me.
"You shouldn't have hit him that hard?"
"He deserved it. And don't worry, you are soon getting it," he scoffed.
I gulped and looked at Aaron. "Does it really hurt?"
"No, it's really nice to get flogged," he replied sarcastically. I looked down at my legs. I'm only wearing a thin pajama pants. s**t!
"Here, solve these questions!" Ty ordered striking Aaron's left arm with the scale.
"Ahh...why are you simply hitting?" Aaron groaned, rubbing his arm.
"This is my method. You can quit if you don't like it," Ty informed.
Aaron received many more strokes during the remaining half-hour tutoring section. Ty only hit me once, that too very lightly after I intentionally made a few mistakes to see if he really beats me.
But each time, Aaron got an answer wrong, Ty used the chance to beat him hard. I'm sure there'll be a lot of bruises on Aaron's thighs when he reach home. Not kidding, Ty hit him really hard.
But Aaron took it all without complaining. Maybe he thinks he deserves it for what he did to Ty in the past. I even felt like he was also purposefully making mistakes. Maybe he thinks Ty will finally feel satisfied after hitting him a lot. He isn't quitting no matter what.
After taking all the hits, the bunny boy was still reluctant to leave our home when the clock ticked 7 and Ty asked him to leave. I had to literally push him out.
But the interesting thing is, when I went back upstairs after closing the doors, Ty was standing on the balcony, watching Aaron disappearing across the corner of the street.
"It wasn't that bad, right?"
"Of course, it was. I hated every single moment of it," he replied turning around to face me.
"Really?"
"Yeah! First of all, I hate him. Secondly, he is a stupid dumb i***t," he sighed.
"I don't think so. Aaron is bright," I protested.
"He is dumb!" he glared at me.
"Okay but how could you hit him like that, looking at his cute bunny face?"
"Cute?" he frowned.
"Yeah.." I nodded.
"Cute my ass. I want to slap that ugly face of his. Stupid i***t!" he scoffed and walked away. I couldn't help but let out a chuckle. I hope he doesn't change his word too soon.
