Kia was still in the daze when Sam replied,

KIA, WHAT HAPPENED?

Kia felt something but she wasn’t sure what is this and decided to think less and replied,

                                                                                                                                NO SAM, ACTUALLY  I REALLY

                                                                                                                           MISS SOMEONE, AND SOME OF MY

                                                                                                                             POSTS ARE INFLUENCED BY HIM.

Kia thought and smiled, “no Sam, not bf but soon to be”,

                                                                                                                                            I HARDLY WAS ABLE TO

                                                                                                                                         CONTACT HIM, YOU CAN SAY

                                                                                                                                             A CRUSH.   

Kia waited for Sam’s reply but he took a long time to reply, ten minutes passed then Kia stood up and checked Sam’s seat. He was not there but his laptop was still on and its screen was showing their chat. “maybe he has gone out for a while, should I check his chat with other people, no it will be wrong but what if he talks to some other girl also like this”, Kia was standing near Sam’s seat and was unsure if she should check Sam’s chat and suddenly she felt someone calling her,

“Excuse me”,

She was still struggling over her thoughts and because of this, she couldn’t recognize Sam’s voice. Kia turned to look who was it, and what she saw made her choke,

“what is he doing here, no it’s his seat, he will be obviously here. Screw you Kia, you couldn’t make yourself sit at one place for a while. Did he recognize me, does he still he remember me. But why he is not saying something. You dumb, it’s your turn to say something”, Kia was thinking all this and preparing herself to speak something but before her, Sam spoke up,

“Hi, it’s Kia right”,

 Kia did not expect Sam to speak and to even remember her. Kia calmed herself, she couldn’t look like a fool before him. She decided to speak something nice but only two words came from her mouth,

“Yes, hii”

“long time no see, how are you?”

Kia was confused whether she should tell Sam that she remembered him or she should pretend she forgot him. “but I know him, but if I would be too frank, he would think I am interested in him. But that was the mistake I did earlier, I think this is the correct time to take some initiative”, she mustered up her courage and said,

“Hi Sam, I am fine, what about you?”

Sam did not reply immediately, it seemed now he was in daze. Kia waved her hand in front of him and said,

“Hey! What happened?”

“Oh! Nothing, I am good, it’s been a great time. He took a pause and then said

 “Are you in contact with sir.”

“Yeah, he is my father’s friend so he frequently visit us.”

“Oh, now I know why he used to favor you a lot, he was so sweet to you, whereas he always scolded us, boys”

Kia smiled and answered, “really?”

“You got me, I was just kidding, you were a top student, you are blessed to receive special treatment.

Kia smiled and replied,

“He is a nice person and he did not favor anyone. How is VEENA? Sir told me she went to New York for further studies.”

“Yeah, she is there, enjoying her life”, Sam said in a sarcastic tone.

Kia thought maybe Sam too wanted to pursue his studies at somewhere else but not was allowed to do so,

“Enjoy! I guess she is there to study”, Kia said

“Ya, but that’s New York, of course, she is having a great time there. Well leave about her, you tell what’s going on.”

Kia was confused, why Sam is taking so much interest in her life. Three years back he was least concerned to say even “hi” to her, maybe he is just doing the formality part. Then I should go back to do my work.

“ya, I am good and studying at Queen’s College. Actually, I was doing my assignment here.”

“Oh, so I should not disturb you. You can continue your work. See ya.”Sam said and returned to his seat.

Kia was standing there as it is, she needed time to digest what just happened. She took her laptop and went to a park near the library. Sitting on the bench she was biting her nails profusely. “What just happened, oh my God! Is life playing a game with me, I waited for three years to happen something and now when I took the command over my love life it seems destiny has started playing with me”, Kia was busy thinking all this and suddenly she was disturbed by the ringing of her phone.

“Mom s**t! Oh what’s the time”, Kia cried when she saw her mom’s number on her mobile screen.

“Kia, when are you coming back. It’s six p.m. girl! You have been out for so long. This is not done Kia, try to come back as soon as possible.

“Yes, mom I have just finished everything. I am on my way”

“OK come soon and bring some things on your way. I have messaged you the list.”

Kia had no guts to refuse her mother,

“Sure mom.”

Kia sighed and checked the message from her mother and started her journey to the groceries store.

At the entrance of the store, she suddenly felt that she is forgetting something. “But what, leave it reaching home should be the priority.”

Later did she know that someone has texted her and waiting for her reply.
