SO NEAR BUT SO FAR

Kia woke up earlier than her usual time. She knew Ana was tired due to her long flight, so she can use this time to study. Unexpectedly Kia picked up her phone to see the time and what she saw made her happy and sad as well.  Happy, because “oh my God! Sam messaged me.” But what made her upset was clearly written on her face. She was so frustrated, she couldn’t reply due to that Ana.

OH BY THE WAY YOU DID

NOT TELL ME YOUR NAME,

WHAT SHOULD I CALL YOU?

And the last message came at 12 p.m.

I GUESS YOU ARE BUSY TODAY. BYE

“No Sam, I was not busy, someone was busy in wasting my time”, Kia was blabbering while shooting daggers with her eyes at Ana. “Should I message him and clear that I was stuck but he will not be online at this hour, God what should I do”. Kia was busy thinking of a solution when Anna woke up,

“Kia, today is Sunday let’s sleep some more. Why are you up so early. You know, today we are going to do some fun stuff.  We will go shopping also!”

“I have so much to tell you. Oh! it smells delicious, aunt has definitely made something nice. Let me quickly get up freshen up, then we will have breakfast together.”

“Ya sis”, Kia couldn’t speak longer as she was so angry on Ana, she thought “you have already disturbed me in my mission and yet you have so much to speak. No today I can’t stay at home. I have to come up with an idea.”

Kia quickly took a bath and went downstairs.

“Kia you  have bathed! Very good baby, come, have breakfast.” Kia’s mom called her to the dining table.

“mom actually I am going to RIMI’s home for the economics project that I mentioned to you yesterday”

“I don’t remember properly, maybe I forgot. Okay first have breakfast and then go.”

“Kia is this project important, I mean Ana has come to our home, you should be with her”. Kia’s dad asked her.

“Dad I have my practicals  and I have to submit the project in  next week. And I don’t get time to complete it on weekdays due to college.” Kia was cursing herself for lying to her dad.

“oh! then you have less time. Ok then complete your sandwich and go.”

“It’s ok Kia, studies come first. But try to come early.” Ana spoke with a sandwich in her mouth.

“Sure sis”. Kia was thinking about how to waste her time after chatting with Sam because the project she mentioned, she has already completed it  two days before and there is no way she is going to come earlier.   Kia quickly ate her breakfast and then took her bag and went to the library near her home. Before entering the library she quickly called Rimi who was enjoying her weekend with her boyfriend.

“Yes babe, what’s up?”

“Listen Rimi, I am at your home, ok?”

“huh?”

“Rimi!”

“Oh yes yes, you are here with me and we are doing group studies. And if aunty called me you will be out to buy some stationery for our project.”

“Good and how’s your date going.”

“Well, he was about to kiss me when you called me.”

Kia could tell Rimi is going to kill her when they will meet. “don’t worry babe, I will text ZEN to kiss you  immediately.”

“Oh God Kia, what I am going to do with you. Bye”

Rimi cut the call and started staring Zen and it seemed that she was giving him a warning to complete the work that he started......

Kia’s original plan was to text Sam and give him some excuse for not coming online yesterday and then she would continue her study till Sam come online. But what she did not know that Sam was already online.

Soon Kia closed her laptop and started studying. After completing few questions Kia looked at the time and it was one p.m. She felt hungry and thus decided to buy something from a bakery near the library.

When she was back after having a pastry and a burger, what she saw made her feet wobbly.

“oh my gosh! Sam is here, in this library. But I haven’t seen him here ever. Is he here to study? But when he has become serious for studies? Oh wait he has his laptop, maybe he is here to surf on the internet.”

“Good he is on the other side and can’t see me”

Kia quickly occupied her seat and started studying but only she knew  she will not  be able to read a single letter when Sam is so close to her. Within two minutes she got a notification, she opened her laptop and saw a reply from Sam. But before his reply, she saw some other thing on her screen.
