“He can’t have disappeared off the face of the earth,” stormed Templeton. “Somebody must know where he is. Someone must be helping him.”
The squad of detectives in his office said nothing.
“Well?” he snapped.
Jack Williams, a sergeant with rapidly receding hairline shifted uncomfortably in his chair. “We have contacted all his friends and associates, guv. Nobody has seen him since the party.”
“What about the girl?” barked Templeton. “Have we had anything from the mother?”
