Of all the scenarios that ran through my mind when I saw Josh again after so long and knew more or less what he was going through, Josh's question was one I had never imagined.
Surprised?
No!
I was shocked!
Josh's face looked confused when he asked that question. And honestly, it made me a little upset.
"Josh, did I mishear you?" I asked cautiously. "You... Are you asking me to marry you?"
Josh sighed and lowered his head for a moment, then when he looked up again, his gaze was back to the Josh I knew. Steady and confident.
"Yes. I'm asking you to marry me," Josh said. "We've gotten to know each other well, and I think our connection is quite deep. You know I like you, and I'm sure you feel the same way. We're compatible in many ways."
I had to admit that I liked Josh
