ADRIAN (Part 6)

The night was thick with anticipation, every shadow in the city seeming to hold a secret, a whisper, a threat. I had been restless all evening, pacing the room, scanning the perimeter from the balcony, my mind spinning with possibilities. Marcus was no longer just circling, he was close, testing, probing, daring me to react. Every instinct in me screamed that Sophia was the target, that her presence was a lure, and that I would not allow anyone to touch her. I glanced at her, asleep in the bedroom, her hair spilling across the pillow, her skin glowing softly in the moonlight. She looked serene, vulnerable, and completely unaware of the storm circling us. My jaw tightened, wolf instincts flaring, possessive and protective. She was mine, and Marcus would find out exactly what happened to anyone who crossed the line. Lucian appeared beside me, eyes sharp, body tense. “He’s moved,” he said quietly. “The scouts report a small team approaching the outer perimeter. They’re testing your defenses again, sir.” I exhaled slowly, tension coiling through me. “Then it’s time to end the games,” I said. “I want traps set, positions secured, scouts ready to intercept. He doesn’t get the first move, Lucian. He never has, and he never will.” Lucian inclined his head, eyes lingering on Sophia’s closed door. “She doesn’t need to know,” he said. “She doesn’t,” I agreed, voice low, “but I need to make sure she’s protected. Everything I do revolves around her. She’s my weakness, my obsession, my strength, and anyone who touches her will pay with everything I have.” Hours stretched, the tension mounting with every passing minute. I moved through the estate like a predator, checking positions, adjusting patrols, ensuring there were no blind spots. Marcus was clever, but I had my advantages. I had intelligence, strategy, and a burning need to protect the woman I loved. Nothing else mattered. When I returned to Sophia, she was awake, eyes tracking me as I entered the room. There was a mix of curiosity and worry, something she had learned to hide behind a soft smile. “Are you going to tell me what’s happening?” she asked, voice cautious. I shook my head, pressing a hand to her cheek, feeling the warmth of her skin. “Not yet. Just know that everything I do is for you, and you’re not to leave this room until I say otherwise.” Her lips parted in a faint gasp, and I leaned down, pressing my mouth to hers in a kiss that was both possessive and intimate. My hands roamed her body with deliberate care, marking her as mine, claiming her in every sense while the danger outside lingered, pressing in. She moaned softly, arching into me, her body responding to my touch as naturally as if it were a physical law. Desire and danger intertwined, making every movement urgent, every touch sharp with tension. I could feel her heartbeat accelerate beneath my palm, the sound matching the fury building in me for Marcus and his insolent challenge. Hours slipped by in a haze of heat and whispered names, of possession and unspoken promises. But even as I claimed her, kissed her, pressed my body to hers, my mind was a weapon, calculating every move, planning every counter. Marcus would not win. He would not touch her, not even a finger. Not while I drew breath. Finally, I pulled back slightly, holding her face in my hands, feeling the tremor in her lips, the rapid rise and fall of her chest. “You stay here,” I whispered, voice low and rough, “until I return. Do you understand?” She nodded, eyes wide, lips parted, the trust she placed in me almost unbearable in its intensity. “I understand,” she said softly. I left her then, moving through the estate with precise, lethal purpose. Marcus’s men were near, probing, testing, but I was ready. Every trap was set, every route monitored, every ally at their post. I had turned the city into a chessboard, with Marcus as the unwitting pawn about to be struck down. The night exploded in chaos the moment they stepped onto my territory. Scouts reported the intruders, small but armed, moving through the shadows. My pack met them in silence, precision strikes cutting through the night like knives. Every movement was calculated, controlled, ruthless. Marcus had underestimated me, and his men fell quickly, a warning left for the one who orchestrated this attack. And then I saw him, Marcus, stepping from the shadows, arrogance in his posture, his eyes glinting with contempt. He thought he could challenge me here, in my territory, with Sophia at my side. He thought he could tempt me into weakness. I roared low, wolf instincts surging, possessive need and rage merging into a single, lethal force. My body moved before my mind fully processed, closing the distance between us, striking with precision, dominance, and unyielding fury. Marcus smirked, confident, but the confidence didn’t last. Every move I made was a statement, a claim, a warning, she was mine, anyone who dared touch her would pay with everything I had, blood, fire, and unrelenting force. Hours later, when the threat had been neutralized, I returned to Sophia. She was waiting in the bedroom, her eyes wide, body trembling with relief and lingering desire. I pulled her into my arms, possessive and tender at once, kissing her until her moans filled the room, until the tension of the night melted away in the heat of our reunion. “You’re safe,” I whispered, lips brushing hers, teeth grazing her jaw. “I told you, no one touches you.” Her fingers traced my chest, lingering, hot and needy, yet soft with trust. “I knew you would,” she murmured, her voice husky, “even if I was scared.” The intimacy of the moment was fierce, burning with both possession and love. Every touch, every kiss, was a reminder, I claimed her body, yes, but more than that, her trust, her heart, her obsession intertwined with mine. She was mine in ways no one could contest, no one could challenge, and I would prove it every single day. The night had been chaos, but inside our room, wrapped in each other, there was only heat, desire, and the undeniable bond that had formed between us. Marcus had been a threat, a reminder of the danger lurking outside, but Sophia and I were stronger together, a perfect storm of passion, obsession, and relentless power. And as I held her close, listening to her heartbeat against mine, I knew one thing with absolute certainty, anyone who dared challenge us again would find themselves destroyed, while we, together, burned brighter and fiercer than any darkness that sought to swallow us.
