“Yo Cassie, there’s someone over here.” I then walk over to where mark is, and there is a man just laying there. “Oh great is he dead?” I ask. I haven’t seen a human for 5 years, much less talked to one. I pick the guy up and take him to Mark and I’s house. It’s just a one story trailer pretty much. I lay the guy on the couch and grab a wet towel, and place it on his forehead. He then groans. “Well so much for him being dead.” Mark laughs at my little remark. “Cas, you know it’s okay to have feelings again. You can love again.” He said which made me remember Axel. “I love you, that counts right?” I say while laughing. “Cassie I am a snake.” We laugh even harder until the guy sits up and yells “Mate.” “Calm down big guy there is no mate here.” He then looks at me says “Mate” again. “Look. I don’t have a mate, so will you stop that.” I tell him, I am getting angry with his stupid jokes. “Cassie, haven’t you ever thought you might get a second chance?” Mark asks. “I don’t deserve a second chance Mark, so shut up I am not his mate.” I tell him. They both back up hurt. “Look I am sorry, but I am not your mate. And Mark I am sorry also.” He slithered out of the house and slammed the door with his tail on the way out. Great now he’s mad. “What do you mean you’re not my mate?” The guy asked. “My mate died 5 years ago, plus you don’t want me as a mate. It will only get you hurt.” I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. “Why wouldn’t I want you as a mate? You’re beautiful.” He says. I growl at him. “I am not beautiful, and I don’t deserve to have a mate, you will die if you’re with me.” I start crying and he tries to hug me but I shrug him off and go to my room, and fall asleep.
*Mark’s P.O.V. (Snake)*
“For 5 years she has made herself as miserable as possible. She doesn’t even talk to her wolf anymore.” I explain to Kyle who is the new guy. “What happened to her mate, did she kill him?” He asked. “Goodness no. She was fighting and protecting her pack and when it was all over she was talking to her son, when he was killed. She gave her Alpha title to her Beta and ran off with me. Ever since then she has hated herself. I know she’s in pain, but there’s nothing I can do to help. She even blocks me out sometimes.” I reply. She has done everything to make me happy, yet she’s miserable. I think to myself. “What pack is she from?” He asks. “The Purple Falls pack.” I reply and his eyes go wide. “That pack died off 5 years ago when their Alpha ran away… Oh.” He says. “They got attacked after their Alpha left and they broke away.” His eyes sadden as he’s telling me what happened. “Did any of them die?” Cassandra asks with tears rolling down her face. I know she still cares, but she is still hurting. “Yes, um the beta did.” She then growled and teleported us and herself to the waterfall. She then walks over to her dead mates grave and she lowers herself to the ground. “I am so sorry.” Was all she said before she was tackled down. “Cassie!” I yelled, but I recognized who it was. “Mom!” Was all he said while crying. “Oh my gosh Benny, I am so sorry baby.” She then hugged him as her old pack came out of the shadows and hugged her. Her hair started turning back to its old color. Alpha Luke then stepped out and when she saw him, she instantly stiffened. “Alpha, please forgive me for I am the reason your son it dead.” She said while looking down at the ground. Alpha Luke’s eyes widened and her pulled her into a hug. “Baby girl you protected us, no one saw it coming. It wasn’t your fault.” He then lets her go as Jessica (Damian’s mate) comes running toward her “Cas, oh my gosh!” She then stopped in front of her and started crying. “He’s gone Cassandra, he’s gone.” Cassie then used her powers to ease some of the pain. “I know baby that’s why I am back. Let’s redo this.” Everyone then yelled out in horrays and yays. Cas looked over at the water and turned it back to purple so did her hair. She was now the Alpha of the Purple Falls pack again. “Cassandra, can I talk to you in private please?” Kyle asks. “Yeah of course come on.” She then teleports him to somewhere. Everyone comes up to me and asks how she is and I tell them the truth. “She hasn’t seen or talked to humans in 5 years. She will forever blame and hate herself for what happened that day. She is never going to be the same. The guy that was with us is named Kyle he is her second chance mate, but she doesn’t want the same thing to happen to him as what happened to Axel. She tells herself she doesn’t deserve it, so please everyone go easy on her. She’s been through hell.” Was all I had to say for them to understand. While Cas and Kyle talk for what seems like forever, the pack starts building a pack house above ground.
