Unlike every other Scientific Study outpost, SWA-7 had come through the Presidium’s aggression relatively unscathed. Samael was warmly received upon his return and the Serefim Soldiers who had remained at the basecamp were elated to see the arrival of their four comrades.
After Samael got his charges checked in at the medical clinic, he gathered the staff at the outdoor dining tables. Everyone was anxious to hear about Azazel, Ramuell, and the Crow Clan. Sam gave an abbreviated account of his adventures. He shared the sad news last. Looking away, his voice cracked as he told of Rarus’s and Alicia’s deaths. Turning back to the group he saw several people wiping at tears. A heavy, angry pall settled over the camp.
