Months passed, things were normal as Lilly spread her light, but her mind kept drifting back to the day she first met Jack Frost. She couldn't help but to blush at how he smiled at her and gave her a new nickname. There were times when she'd just sit somewhere and just daydream about him, almost forgetting her duty. As the time passed, Lilly began to wonder if she'll ever see Jack again at all. But little did she know, their meeting would come sooner than she thought.

It was another snow day, and Lilly just watched the children play in the snow. She suddenly found herself wanting a bit of fun, so she flew off to where there was a frozen lake. She landed on the lake and, as if she were wearing skates, began to ice skate on her bare feet. Lilly had loved doing this ever since she could remember waking up, she never knew why she loved it or why she was so good at it, but she didn't care, it was fun and gave her great joy. As she skated, she suddenly heard laughter above her. She stopped and looked up. It was Jack Frost riding the wind and flying around shouting "snow day!!" He caught sight of the frozen lake and skidded on it while marking it with his beautiful frost. As he skated past Lilly, he gave her a smile and hopped off the lake, his wind blowing a book out of a passing child's hands. Lilly flew up and moved to land, watching as Jack examined the book he blew out of the child's hands. Looking at the child, she was able to see that it was Sophie's older brother, Jamie. She watched as Jack took a closer look at the book that read "Mysterious Times."
"Huh, that looks interesting," he said as Jamie picked up his book.
"Good book?" he asked, despite the fact that Jamie couldn't see or hear him. Then Jamie's friends approached him, laughing and cheering "snow day!" Jack and Lilly both chuckled at their enthusiasm.
"You're welcome!!" Jack said, and the children went their way. He turned around to face Lilly.
"Wow, hey Lilly it's been a while."
"Yeah, um . . . . so how are things for you?" Lilly asked, trying to strike up a conversation after not having seen Jack for quite some
time.
"Doing good, I thought today would be a good snow day for these guys."
"Heh, I can see that."
"And you?"
"The usual, somehow the children have been getting more nightmares lately, but it's nothing I can't handle."
"Huh, confident are we?"
"Yeah, I guess you can say that." Jack looked at the children walking away with Jamie.
"Hey, wanna go see what they're up to?"
"Oh uh, sure why not? I don't work during the day time anyway," Lilly said, and flew with Jack after the kids to Jamie's house. Lilly sat on a wooden fence while Jack paced back and forth, balancing his staff on his shoulders with his arms as they watched the kids chat among themselves. A little friendly argument started about Jamie's beliefs in everyone.
"The Easter Bunny 'is' real," Jamie stated matter-of-factly when his friends denied him.
"Oh he's real all right," Jack suddenly said, catching Lilly's attention, "really annoying, really grumpy, and really full of himself." Lilly couldn't help but to laugh at what Jack said.
"Oh come on, you guys believe anything," his friends said as Jamie got his sled. Then Lilly saw Sophie come out of the house with hers and Jamie's greyhound, Abby.
"Easter Bunny! Hop hop hop!" she cheered as she hopped down the stairs.
"Sophie! Oh it's been so long!" Lilly said with joy, but then blushed from embarrassment when she remembered that Sophie couldn't see or hear her. Sophie began another hop down the stairs, but tripped, causing her to skip the last step and fall to the ground.
"Ow!" she shouted as she began to cry.
"Mom! Sophie fell again!" Jamie called out, and his mother was there, comforting Sophie. Lilly sighed in relief, seeing that Sophie is being taken care of. When Sophie's tears had dried, her mother went after Jamie.
"Jamie. Hat," she said, setting Jamie's winter hat on his head, "we don't want Jack Frost nipping at your nose." Jamie gave her a confused look.
"Who's Jack Frost?"
"No one honey, it's just an expression." Jack had a slightly offended look on his face, and Lilly knew what Jamie's mother said got to him.
"Hey," he said. No one but Lilly heard him.
"Jack," Lilly said, placing a hand on his shoulder, "sorry."
"Hmph," Jack bounced over the fence, gathering some snow into his hands.
"Jack? What are you doing?"Lilly asked, still seated on the fence. Jack ignored her.
"'Who's Jack Frost?'," he mumbled to himself. He then blew on the snow ball, making it faintly glow blue, and a wide smirk was on his face. He threw it, and it hit Jamie. All around Jamie's face, little blue sparkles were released, and he had a playful smile on his face.
"Ok, who threw that?" he asked.
"Well, it wasn't Big Foot kiddo," Jack joked, flying close to Jamie with Lilly behind him.
"What did you do?" Lilly asked.
"It's my special snow, it makes people wanna have fun," his smirk suddenly grew wider, if that was possible.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Oh nothing, just . . ." he quickly made a snowball and blew on it, "think you could use some of my special snow," he finished. Lilly then understood what he meant.
"Oh no!! Keep that cursed snow away from me!!" she shouted and began to run away, but sadly Jack was quick, and got her. She stared into space for a second, and then a bright smile was on her face. Jack's heart skipped a beat.
'Wow . . . . when she smiles like that . . . . she's so . . . . pretty,' he thought. He then felt a snowball hit his face, knocking him out of his daydreams.
"Wha-!?"
"Hahaha!! Got you!!" she said with her angelic laugh, which also caused Jack's mind to be in the clouds.
'And her laugh . . . . I've never heard anything so . . . beautiful . . .'
Knowing that he had fun to create, he snapped himself out of his thoughts and ran around, making snowballs with his staff and throwing some.
"Free for all!!" he shouted. And for a long time, Lilly, Jack, and the kids had a snowball fight, with Jack and Lilly mainly aiming for each other since no one else could see them. Until Jack had an opportunity with Jamie and suddenly created frost, making Jamie slip and land on his sled. From there, Jack gave Jamie a thrill ride throughout town, with Lilly flying and yelling behind him to watch out for things and scolding him for such a reckless act. This continued until Jack made Jamie "fly" through the air and land on a soft pile of snow. Jack landed himself on a statue and cheered.
"Yeah!!" Lilly landed next to him and continued to scold him.
"What the heck were you thinking Jack!? You could've killed him!!" she shouted.
"Hey, he's alive isn't he?" Jack said in an "innocent" voice.
"But what if you made a wrong move back there!? He could've hit that truck you were so lucky to have dodged!!" Jack waved his hands in front of him, " OK, I get it. I'll be more careful next time." Lilly's eyebrow twitched with the words "next time."
"There had better not even be a 'next time'," she said under her breath, "you're just lucky that he didn't get hurt." At that moment, a red sofa that came from a truck that opened during Jamie's joy ride slid down and hit Jamie hard, knocking him to the ground. Jack and Lilly cringed at the sight, but Lilly replaced that with a glare.
'Oh boy, I'm in trouble,' Jack thought, seeing her glare. Before Lilly could make a move, she and Jack heard Jamie say, "Cool a tooth!!" His friends gathered around him to congratulate him and then began to talk about the Tooth Fairy.
"Oh no," Jack said, this was not what he was planning on. He hopped down from the statue following the children, "Oh come on, what about the fun we just had? That wasn't the Tooth Fairy, that was me!" Lilly then realized Jack was just trying to make the children believe in him. He positioned himself right in front of them, "What does a guy have to do to get a little attention?" His question wasn't answered, instead, the kids walked right through him, and Lilly saw the disappointment in his face. Wanting to try and cheer him up, Lilly flew to his side.
"Jack?" He didn't look at her, "it's ok, I know how it feels to be not believed in. I've been around for 250 years, and no one has ever believed in me. Why should they? I'm nothing great or anything like Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy."
"You are great, you should be believed in," Jack said, looking straight into her eyes.
"Oh, th-thanks," Lilly said, blushing lightly.
"No problem. Hey," Jack added, wanting to change the subject, "wanna hang out some more? You're pretty . . . . uh . . . pretty fun to be around!!" he said, correcting himself at the last minute. Lilly giggled, "Sure, why not?" Jack just then had an idea.
"Hey, ever flew with the wind?"
"No, why?" Jack held out his hand, "Come on, it's fun." Lilly slowly took his hand, and was surprised, it wasn't cold and his hand fitted perfectly with hers. She turned her head away to hide her blush.
"Oi, what's wrong? My hand isn't cold to you, is it?" Jack asked, trying to look at her face, which she turned even more.
"N-no, it's fine."
"Heh, ok, if you say so," Jack lifted his head and called, "hey wind!!" and instantly, Lilly felt the wind carry both her and Jack up into the air. She yelped with surprise and wrapped her other arm around his as her grip on Jack's hand got tighter, while he cheered with joy. He looked over to Lilly, who had her eyes closed.
"Come on Angel, open them." Gradually, Lilly opened her eyes, never in her life had she flown so fast, and then she joined Jack's cheers as they flew together, going wherever the wind took them. They flew over a large lake that was frozen, and Jack had another idea. He removed him and Lilly from the wind's current, and glided down to the lake, landing them both softly onto the ice.
"Jack? What are we doing here?"
"I couldn't help but notice you skating earlier today. You skate?"
"Oh yeah, I love it. I'm really good at it."
"Really? You know, I'm pretty good myself."
"Is that a challenge I'm hearing?"
"If you wanna put it that way."
"You're on!"
They skated for hours, trying to outdo each other with their skills.
"Out of tricks already!!?" Jack asked playfully.
"Not even!!" Lilly shouted back, leaping into the air and spinning four times, nailing the landing.
"Can you top that?" she asked, a small smirk on her face.
"Just watch." Jack did as Lilly did, but when he tried to spin a fifth time, he stumbled greatly when he landed and crashed into Lilly, sending them both to the icy ground of the lake.
"Ow, ok, maybe that wasn't such a good idea," he said, hoisting himself on one hand and rubbing his forehead with the other.
"Ummm, Jack?" he heard beneath him. He looked down, he was kneeling over Lilly, who looked up at him with her bright, yellow eyes. Jack found himself in a trance by the golden orbs that were her eyes, and just stared into them. And now that he was closer, he was able to see how beautiful she really was, and continued to stare.
"Jack? You ok?"
"Huh? Oh yeah! It's just that . . . . . you're . . . uh, I mean . . . . your eyes . . they're so . . . . beautiful . . ." Lilly blushed, "Oh uh, thank you. Yours are really lovely as well."
"Heh, thanks." Jack helped her up. As the moon shined light down upon the two, Lilly then realized something.
"Oh dear, it's night time!! I should get to the children."
"Right, I'll fly with you."
"Really?"
"Sure, I can still work in winter while you work on helping the kids." Truthfully, Jack didn't want to leave Lilly just yet.
"Ok then."

As Lilly helped children with their fears, Jack flew close, spreading his frost everywhere he touched. They continued on until they got to Jamie's house. Jack got curious and peeked through a window, and saw Jamie happily telling his mom about his sled ride. He smiled, but then frowned when he remembered Jamie walking right through him. He flew back to the roof where Lilly was waiting.
"Is Jamie really ok?" she asked.
"Yeah," Jack answered. Lilly noticed something in his voice.
"Jack? Something wrong?"
"Yeah, there's something I'm doing wrong."
"Huh?" He looked up to the moon, forgetting about Lilly for a moment.
"Can't you just tell me what it is?" Lilly understood, he was talking to the Man in the Moon, she would sometimes do the same when she was feeling lonely, or if she wanted to ask a question, but the moon was always silent with her. And it seems, he's silent with Jack as well.
"Because I've tried everything," Jack continued, "and no one ever sees me. You put me-" he stopped, "you put me and Lilly here, the least you can do is tell us . . . tell us why?" Lilly was surprised with Jack mentioning her, but she listened closely, seeing if the moon would respond this time. But once again, there was silence. Jack just sighed and looked down.
"Um . . . . hey Jack, don't worry, I'm sure the Man in the Moon will tell us someday why we're here," she said, trying to sound hopeful.
"Yeah, I guess . . . . I should get going. It was nice hanging out Lilly, I had fun."
"Same here. We should do this again sometime."
"Sure, later Angel," and instead of flying away, Jack just walked from the roof to the power lines, freezing them. Lilly knew that Jack was feeling really down, but what could she do? As she walked away, she herself looked up to the moon.
"Sir, for years, I've been doing what I felt like I was meant to do: help children become brave and courageous, but . . . . Jack's got a point, you put us both here, but why? Please, I beg of you, tell me. Why are we here?" She waited patiently, and just like Jack, she got no answer. She deeply sighed.
"Might as well keep going, it doesn't matter I guess, the children need me." But as she stopped on a roof to enter an open window, she felt something whoosh past her.
"What the!? What was that?" Curiosity getting the better of her, Lilly followed to where she believed the blur went to. She looked around, it wasn't in sight, but behind her, it whooshed again, and she both ran and flew, trying her best not too loose whatever that was. Lilly kept going until she ended up in an alley. Looking around again, she saw no one, but knew that there was someone nearby.
"'Ello love," an Australian accent suddenly said from the shadows. She turned around, startled. She was able to make out a bunny figure, it was twirling what looked like a boomerang in between its fingers.
"Seems like this is the first time we meet, so allow me to introduce myself," the speaker came out of the shadows. It was the Easter Bunny himself, standing at an intimidating height with her coming up to only his chest.
"The name's Bunny, the Easter Bunny."
"Oh my."
"What?"
"Oh, pardon me, it's just that, you're not at all what I expected you to be."
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
"It's a good thing, I didn't expect you to be so . . . . cool looking." Bunny smiled at this.
"Why thank you love."
"You're welcome. Oh right! My name's-"
"Lilly is it not? The Angel of Light?"
"How did you-!?"
"It will be explained in due time," he looked behind her, "fellas?" Two yetis suddenly appeared behind Lilly, making her jump.
"Yikes!!" They talked to each other in their yeti language, then one of them pulled out what looked to be a snow globe, said something, and threw it on the ground. A portal opened up.
"Go on love," Bunny said.
"Uuu Mmm, aren't you coming?" Lilly asked, not wanting to be taken to a strange place without someone she trusted, and right now, she trusted Bunny the most.
"Don't worry, I'll meet you there. Don't worry about them," he gestured to the yetis, "they're friendly if you're on good terms with them." He tapped the ground twice, and a rabbit hole appeared.
"See ya back at the pole," and he dropped himself into the hole. When it closed up, a little red flower grew.
"Wow." One of the yetis began to "speak" to Lilly. Lilly focused on his body movements, and came up with something.
"You want me to go through the portal?" Both yetis nodded, "Well, ok, here goes nothing." Closing her eyes, Lilly jumped into the portal with the two yetis following behind her.
