AVA’S POV
“I'm sorry. That wasn't my intention. I…”
“It's fine” I cut in, quickly, stepping backwards, as I blinked uncomfortably. “I'll just… uh, I'm just going to… you know, go out. Like you wanted me to.” Stepping backwards, I turned around, and left his office immediately, sucking in all the breath I'd forgotten to breathe in.
His receptionist was staring at the door, and my guilty conscience made me think she had somehow magically heard and seen everything that went on.
“Where is the waiting room?” I asked, and she rose from her seat.
“Come with me, please.” She said, getting out from behind her desk to walk ahead of me and my bodyguard.
