Safety Room

Aiden's POV 

         1 WEEK LATER.

          I tossed myself on the soft mattress of my bed, as soon as I entered my room. Today was really a tough day, dad was extra active today and had also made my training extra hard, since the day I tossed him on the training ground. According to him, those were the basic training for the alphas, and the routine which we are following now is the real challenging one, which I need to pass. Though I am the son of the alpha, still there are some qualifications in which I need to be excellent. So, here I am, after whole morning training, relaxing and catching my breath.

“KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK”

“Who’s there?” I called laying on the bed only, having no energy left in me. And without any answer, the door opens. Turning my head I see, it’s none other than my mum. Going towards my closet she says “Come on, get freshen up and have some food.” Taking out my clothes, she came towards me. Handing them to me she left the room. Having no other option, I got up and drag myself to the bathroom for having a shower, because a meal cannot be skipped by anyone in the house, in the presence of her. Having a hot shower, I let my joints relax, and then after half-an-hours, I came out of the bathroom and got dressed.

As I opened the door, I saw Aves going somewhere. Must be going for lunch only. “Hey Aves, for lunch?” I asked grabbing her attention. “Yeah” she replied with a smile. “Then, let’s go,” I said and we proceeded towards our destination. While walking she asked me, “how’s your training going, Aids?” “It’s going awesome, though it’s tough” I reply. Then we both shared about our day and mostly it was her who was speaking because I was training the whole day, so not much was there to say except tricks and skills I learned to use in the war. And for sure she will be bored listening to them. She is a sensitive girl, even after training in the ground. She trains just because it's a rule of our pack, for everyone's own protection. I don’t know why, since our childhood, I had this urge to always protect her and to make sure of her safety, and as we are growing this urge of mine is becoming more and more stronger. Whoever her mate will be, must take care of hers, otherwise, I’ll strangle him off.

Suddenly the most alluring smell came to my nose, as we were near the kitchen. “I can see drool coming out of someone’s mouth, I think” a voice comes from beside me. I almost forgot that Aves was walking beside me, due to the smell. “Yeah girl, after all, it's PANCAKE, what else do you expect from him” comes a voice from our behind, and without turning I know whose it is. “Yeah, yeah make fun as much as you both want, I won’t object to you because it’s PANCAKES TIME” screaming this, I went towards the dining table taking long strides. As soon as I reached there, I saw Mumm is ready with an already served plate of pancakes and chocolate syrup. Yummy, my mind was screaming, and quickly I sat on my chair and enjoyed savoring them.

“Alpha, alpha, alpha….” A guard came running into the dining hall while panicking.

“What happened?” asked my getting up from his seat.

“R-rouge attack” he stammered due to heavy breathes

The two words were enough for my dad to hurriedly go out of the house. “Son, you three go to the safety room and be there with the other helpers and help them in handling other kids and ladies.” My mum said in a hurry taking long strides towards the door to go out.

 “No mum, I will also come and help dad and everyone is fighting with the rouges,” I said.

“No you can’t come as you don’t have your wolf now, so just go back n help the rest of the pack members” she scolded me.

“But mum…” I was not even able to complete the sentence that glared at me, and that was just enough for my step back. And then she was gone.

Half-hour later

Everywhere there is chaos, kids are crying for their parents who are in the field fighting, some members are just running here and there helping others in bringing every pack member who cannot fight, to the safety room. Even pregnant women are here, some are with small belly and some also having big, and are having stress lines on their forehead. Must be worrying about their mates, who are fighting out there with my parents and other fighters. In our pack, everyone is taught the skills of fighting, including women and even kids since ten. But due to not having their wolf, kids and youngers under eighteen like me are not allowed to be there in the war.

Being the future alpha, this pisses me off that I’m not able to take part in the war. There everybody is fighting and shredding their blood for the safety of the pack and here, I am in the safety room convincing everybody and assuring them that we are safe. But on the risk of our family’s life and now I can’t wait to turn eighteen more than ever so that I can get my wolf and then I’ll be allowed to help others in the war.

“Aaarrrrggggghhhhh” I scream in my head, but then only I sensed someone pulling my pants. When I saw down, a cute little girl was looking up at me with her big doe eyes. I crouched down to the girl’s eye level, and asked her “hey little angel, what’s your name?”

“Elle”, she replied in a cute voice, having the brightest smile on her face.

“Are you really going to be our new alpha, everyone is talking about?” she asks me with excitement, but before I can answer her she again started asking, “are you the son of our alpha Jaxon?”

“Yes, I am really going to be your new alpha, little girl” I replied her smiling. “And, yes I am the son of your alpha Jaxon.”

“Then, why are you here, and not there fighting with others?” she asked making me shut. I was not able to answer the question of this kid, as I myself wanted to be there fighting with others, but was helpless. Also, I don’t know how to make this little girl understand, why I was here, instead of fighting out there.

“He is here to support and help the other pack members like us.” Came a known voice from my left side, and there she was, Ave for my rescue. “Everyone is out there fighting but what about the rest of the pack members who are here, who will protect us if anything happens here or anyone needs help?” she said looking at the little angel coming towards us. “So, the new alpha is here, to help us personally.” Crouching down she spoke to the girl.

“Really, you are here to help us?” the little angel asks me.

But, I was thinking about the answer Ave gave to this little girl. How smoothly she cleared my doubts and corrected my thoughts about me being here and also the irritation of not being able to help the pack during this tough time and even answered this girl's questions without disappointing her. Then, I heard someone clearing the throat and I came out of my thoughts.

“Little angel is asking you something Aids.” Said  Ave.

“Sorry, I didn’t hear” I apologized rubbing the back of my neck. “ What did you asked?” I asked the angel taking her in my arms and getting up.

“Are you really going to help us?” she asked having a big toothy smile on her face.

“Yes,  angel. I’m here to help you and everyone else present here.” I replied.

“YAYY,” she screamed in excitement and whispered “you are a very handsome alpha" in my ear. And kissing me on the cheek she slipped from my arms and ran away to the group of kids, who I think are her friends. Jumping in excitement, I think she dictated the conversation we had with her friends. The next moment, I saw the group coming towards me running and standing in front of me, all of them bowed and said “THANK YOU” together getting everyone else attention present in the room, and they didn’t even wait for my reply and ran away to where they were, again starting to play.

Turning to my left towards Aves I thanked her, and she asked me in confusion, “why? For answering the girl?”

Shaking my head I answered her, “no, for clearing my doubts and also for correcting my thoughts, though it was unknowingly.”

Nodding her head, she turned away with a smile and again got involved in helping everyone. I stood there smiling and looking at her. Her mate will be the luckiest guy because she always understands her close one without even them asking. Her helpful and sweet nature towards everyone is the reason why I always want to protect her. She is so innocent that anyone can take advantage of her, but I won't let it happen.
