My Known Mate

Prologue

Aiden's POV

Walking back to the packhouse, the only thing running in my mind was about tomorrow. The most important and auspicious day of my life, when I will find the most two wonderful ones i.e. my wolf and the other is my mate. These two creatures are the ones who will complete me. Being from werewolf blood, finding my wolf is the proudest thing not only for me but for any werewolf. But in my case, it is a little different as I am from the Alpha family and the soon-t- be alpha. Alpha is the leader of his pack, whom every pack members follow. We all werewolves live in a place where no humans can easily reach. Our shelters are in the center of the forest. We live unknown to humankind, as they may get scared of us and may also harm our kind.

Tomorrow it's my 18th birthday, therefore I'll be shifting and my wolf will be free. And also he will help me with finding my mate. She will be the one who Moon Goddess will bless me with and she will the one of my close with my family and pack for whom I will do anything to protect her and keep her safe and make her the world's happiest girl alive. Due to all these excitements, I'm not able to sleep, so here I am now, on the way back to my house, after having some peace and my time at my favorite place, near the lake. Don't know what time it is, actually whenever I go to the lake I'm not able to keep the track of time, it's such a wonderful place and it has that kind of acceptance that you will go to some another world of your own.

Soon I think it's going to be 12 at midnight and so I need to reach the packhouse before everyone gets to know that I'm not on my bed sleeping. You must be wondering how will they know, as they all must be sleeping in their rooms, but let me tell you, that it's my 18th birthday, the most important day of my life, so they will definitely be coming to wish me at 12. I've heard them planning to surprise me, so I know about it. So, right now I'm running at my full speed to reach the house.

While running suddenly, I sensed something strange in my body, and then the pain starts to take place. A sudden wave of pain crashes my body and it feels like a bone-cracking jolt. I'm not able to bear the pain anymore but it's increasing more and more and I'm screaming loudly due to the pain and I can hear the nearby small creatures running away because of my scream. I thought my family will be with me, while my shifting but due to my stupidity they are not. At least, them being with me would have given me some strength, but now it was a different case and the pain is making me feel like dying. Slowly the pain is increasing and with a full blow of sudden pain, I scream out the loudest and everything goes dark in front of me.

After some time, when my pain got lessened, I opened my eyes and saw the four paws instead of my two legs. And raising my head I'm able to see everything more clearly even at midnight. Then, I realized that I got my wolf and I was howling in excitement and was running feeling the cool and soothing breeze through my furs.
