HER INNOCENCE

HIS BETRAYAL

Time had passed,but Lola continued to carry the heavy burden of what Jade did to her in her heart. She continued to pretend that everything was ok and she was happy been with him.

On her 18th birthday,as she returned from celebrations,she went to Jade's room to check on him . When she knocked on the door no response came from the room,after a couple of knocks she saw the light go on and heard footsteps approaching the door. As she heard the sound of the lock she had a bright smile on her face, only for the smile to be turned into a confused look when the person that had opened the door was a girl. Not knowing what to do nor say, she managed to alter a few words and say she was looking for Jade and asked if he was in, the girl's response shocked her even more. jade was inside the room sleeping,after taking one good look at the girl and assessing what she was wearing she knew that girl had spent the night with Jade. It been late,Lola just walked away and left for her room.

Several days passed,Lola kept avoiding Jade until one day she met him while coming from class. Jade asked "can I talk to you for a second?" she replied "no I'm busy".

Then he said "please just talk to me even for a minute, you've been avoiding me and I want to know why"

Having heard what he said, she told him to follow her to her room so they could speak in private. Having reached the room, Lola didn't beat around the bush and asked him who the girl he spent the night with was and demanded to be told the truth. The truth she asked for was more hurtful than the sight she saw that day.

He said, "I won't lie to you,I love you and that girl you found by my room is Ruth,I have been dating her for some time now".

She was heart broken,she felt betrayed and taken advantage of. Lola asked, "why did you come to me if you had a girlfriend?"

He said, " when I saw you I genuinely felt a deep attraction to you and I wanted to have you and be with you. I am sorry I lied to you and hid something this important".

She asked him to leave her room and told him that it was over and he should let her be. She spent the rest of the day crying and not attending to anyone that visited her that day. Hurt and lost in thoughts,tears kept rolling down her cheeks as she replayed everything that happened in her head,him forcing himself on her, having to hide it and continue the relationship with him and the biggest betrayal. She felt stupid,she felt hurt and she felt crazy, for he took advantage of her and got what he wanted,her innocence.
