Chapter 16 TALULLAH The knock on Talullah’s door came entirely too early. According to the clock on her desk, she should still have another hour of sleep before her body usually roused her. “Who is it?” Talullah groaned. She wrapped her fleece blanket tighter against her. “Just wondering if I could borrow a cup of sugar, as neighbors do.” Jothi. “I’m fresh out,” she called. “Come back after lunch.” Jothi’s laugh filtered under her door. “Come on, T. Up and at ‘em.” “Ugh. Fine.” Reluctantly, she peeled off her warm blankets and immediately slipped on her swirly cloak, reveling in the instant warmth it provided.
