Colfax went into the pastry shop, mind still reeling about what had just happened. Both the fact that there were now five missing kids and that he’d been elected the community search party leader.
“Morning, dear,” Fideline said as the shell chime announced Colfax’s arrival. She knotted her apron behind her. “What can I get you?”
“Morning. Three of those, please.” He pointed to the chocolate-topped donuts.
