Serena parked her car in front of the amusement park. She held Kaelen’s hand as they walked toward a burger stand.
“Now, let me show you what we eat here,” she said with a smile.
“One chicken burger, please, with extra cheese,” Serena told the man, who nodded and started preparing her order.
Kaelen’s gaze roamed around the park. He saw children laughing and running, a huge Ferris wheel spinning, and people shouting…not out of fear, but excitement.
Serena noticed where he was looking. “We’ll try that ride later, it’s a Ferris wheel,” she explained.
He, however, pointed at a teenage girl paying to get on the ride.
“Aren’t the… pups scared? It looks very…”
“Are you scared, Your Highness?” Serena teased.
He cleared his throat and looked away. “No… just concerned for the little ones.”
