Kaelen's chest was filled with rage instantly. He put his hand over her neck, choking her slightly, not enough to hurt her, just enough to send a warning through her veins. His fingers brushed over the mate mark, and she squirmed instantly, breath catching in her throat.
“If any other male or anyone touches you there…” his voice dropped, dark and deadly, “I will not hesitate to snap them in two.”
His eyes glowed silver, proving he meant every word.
Serena swallowed hard, her body reacting before her mind could catch up. The pressure of his hand, the heat of his breath, the intensity in those glowing eyes, it all locked her in place.
She hated that he knew exactly what that touch did to her.
