“Don’t play coil with us,” one of the councilmen barked, his voice loud and fierce.
“How is it possible you are not in the same condition as the King? If you are not the cause of it, then tell us, why are you untouched? You did this so you could find your way out.”
“I wish it were that simple,” Serena spat back, eyes blazing. “But I did nothing. Nothing! And what condition are you even talking about?”
“Drag her out here!” another councilman roared, his fury spilling over.
Two guards lunged forward, seizing her arms.
