Serena had waited in the forest until the sun rose.
The dark didn’t scare her anymore…not the way it used to. She didn’t care if some wild animal was hiding in the shadows, waiting to tear her apart. All she hoped was that the moon would take her back to Selvayra again.
But it never happened.
In the end, she gave up and went home.
She lay on the floor of her room, staring at nothing. Her mind felt blank, heavy. All she wanted was to go back to Selvayra. Back to him. Tears slipped down her face before she even realized she was crying.
