Dark glanced over at Destiny before turning his attention back to the road. The yellow footprints stretched out before him as an easy trail to follow. Too easy perhaps, but he held enough confidence in his magic to stay the path. Not like he had many other options. A few concerns, sure. He would never utter them to Destiny, though. She had enough nervous energy and leashed fear already on her plate. More might send her packing—the last thing he wanted or needed.
The fact that the spell worked, at least thus far, wasn’t a surprise. Destiny seeing the markers was. While she claimed to have no magical abilities, his gut and observations told him otherwise. “Yes and no.”
