* Layla POV * In the distance I hear a howl, cutting the 'rogues' chatter short. They start to shout out about an incoming fight. Ignoring the cold slush coming down I continue my escape. Hugging the mountain as I push my body to further the distance between me and the rogues. I can feel part of my skin split back open and bleed again. Feeling the stone cut into my stomach I look down at the bloody mess. My clothes were practically non existent, I can see marks all over my torso. Bruising was visible through the blood and mud. My eyes felt like weights on my face. Keep pushing, there is someone coming this way! The voice shouted in my head, feeling as though something pounced in me. "How are you out here?" A voice called behind me. I turn to see a man coming from the trees pulling up his fly. Run now, I can help you if I absolutely must! The smell came into the air again, a rotten smell that made me gag. The rogue walks up the muddy slope. I start to panic, in the trees snarling and loud crashes echoed. The noise made the rogue turn slightly, obviously startled there was fighting close by. I slide down to my butt and pushed my legs forward to go feet first down the slope. The slush bit at my skin making my body feel numb. My wounds began to sting again with the exposure. Making it past the rogue I stand up and quickly go behind the trees, hearing him curse at my stupidity that worked. The trees were dense, making 2 feet in front of you difficult to see. After a few stumbles I feel my femur crunch from more damage. I cry out biting my lip, using a tree as support I listen for the rogue. You can smell him, even through this rain. She was right, I can still smell the nauseating rogue behind me. This one smelled worse than the blue eyed man. I can feel my breaths pick up in pace, my lungs burning the cold air, a few ribs throbbed in protest. Push. I felt a urge go through me. My body didn't move though, blood stained the tree I held. My body was at it's limit. No, I can't go on. I will go down with what fight I can do now, no sense in running to my death! I shout back. You weren't there for this, and I am pretty sure you are not real. I am Calista, it's going to hurt if I help. "Where are you going?" The rogue came around the tree grabbing my wrist crushing the bones beneath. More howls and rang out with snarling following behind. The guy pulls his other hand out from behind him, he had claws with a strange clear liquid that seemed to shine in a weird way dripping from them. Pushing toward he digs into my torso. with a fire that seemed to settle under my skin I crumbled to the ground. Hold on, don't fight me. Calista instructed. I feel my bones snap into odd positions, my skin rip open even more than before. Sorry. Calista apologized as my body stretched and formed fur all over. My screams turned to howls. Standing as tall and large as an Alpha, Calista lunged forward off her back left leg and attacked the rogue who tried to run. * Calista POV * I feel Layla in my head confused and falling into a shocked state. I pounced on the fleeing rogue, tearing his limbs off. Once I imagined being able to go for a run after telling Layla the truth. Never did I imagine I would be bleeding from wounds my human suffered, fighting to save our life. I ignored all the pain, my vision was slightly blurred. In the distance I could hear the thundering steps of a running wolf. Running in an odd way, I move to tackle another rogue. He shifts into his human form, from a red coat to red hair. I recognized this man. Multiple times when he was assigned to get answers from Layla, he brought in his 'secret' choice. A whip with 4 separate braids and small metal flakes woven in. Even through my fur, the marks were visible. I don't have the strength to heal anything right now. Losing blood and my vision I push towards the shocked man. Laching onto his ribs I shake my head vigorously. He began to scream and claw at my face trying to escape. When he tries to grip onto the rope tangled into my fur along my head and neck, I clench my jaw even tighter, his ribs cracking between my teeth. Letting the man drop into an icy puddle along the tree's roots groaning in pain, I look into the shadows to see a set of eyes watching me. The black wolf stood in place. Giving off no signs of being a rouge I chose to ignore him until the monster beside me was dead. Turning I see the man lunge forward with claws extended on one hand. He held his side with one arm, blood seeping to the ground, scratching at my muzzle with the other. Shocked I stumbled back running into a tree with my bad leg causing me to yelp. "You need to die, B***h." He sneered stepping forward to attack again. Before I could position myself in defense the black wolf from the trees launched over the man biting his neck along the way, ripping his head clean off. My back paw hovered over the ground, the pain blaring through me taking over the adrenaline. The cold couldn't keep the searing hot pain in my veins at bay, spreading over my body. The wolf turned back to me after the rogues body stopped twitching. He flattened his ears and layed on the ground, his eyes never leaving my injured leg. My stomach dropped as the burning pain in my stomach spread. Puking on the ground in front of me, my body forced a shift back into my human form. * Layla POV * Curled on the cold wet mossy ground I look up in a daze. Two large silver eyes greeted me, they belonged to a gigantic black wolf. Screaming I stand up ignoring the vertigo, and pain in my broken leg. The wolf stepped up seeming shocked at my reaction, I dart into the trees running from the wolf that probably thinks I'm dinner. Pushing through the shrubs and avoiding low hanging branches, I try to stay awake long enough to get away from the wolf following behind. Practically feeling it's breath on my neck I didn't see a root in the way and tripped. Rolling until my back in a tree trunk, the wolf skidded to a halt after launching over my rolling body. I couldn't hold my head up, it was so heavy. My body didn't hurt as much anymore. As if a heavy veil dropped over my body I drift into my subconscious. Last thing I see is the wolf shaped blur howling until a white blur appeared next to it. My world going dark, and feeling cold.
