I was awakened by the ringing of my phone. I groaned as I felt a sharp pain between my legs.
Slowly, I sat up and was shocked to see that I wasn't wearing anything. I was even more shocked when I noticed a man sleeping soundly beside me.
"s**t, what did I do last night?!" I whispered. I couldn't remember anything that happened, all I knew was that I was no longer a virgin.
I quickly stood up and picked up my clothes scattered on the floor, putting them on in a rush. I saw my phone on the table beside the bed.
I glanced at the man I had a one-night stand with. He was so handsome. The word "handsome" wasn’t enough to describe his perfectly sculpted nose, long eyelashes, and plump lips.
I snapped out of my daze when my phone rang again. I hurriedly grabbed it and quietly walked out of the house.
As I walked, I checked the time—4:06 AM. s**t, my aunt is going to scold me. I answered Kai’s call as he called again.
"Where are you, Elle? Where did you go last night?!" Kai blurted out the moment I answered.
"Elle? Say something," Kai added, clearly worried.
"I'll explain everything later."
"Where are you? I'll pick you up."
I told him my location and ended the call.
"What happened to you last night? You just suddenly disappeared," Kai asked as soon as we were in the car.
"Umm, Kai, don't be shocked," I said, and then I told him everything that happened.
"OMG, you're not a virgin anymore?!" Kai exclaimed.
"Isn’t it obvious?" I replied, raising an eyebrow.
After that, we both fell silent. I just stared out the window.
I realized that I wasn't wearing my necklace anymore. I searched for it in my bag, but it wasn't there. s**t, that necklace was important to me. My aunt told me my mother left it for me to help me find my father if I ever wanted to.
"Elle, why do you look so troubled?" Kai asked when he noticed me fidgeting.
"My necklace is missing."
"Isn't that the one your mom gave you?"
"Yeah, where could I have left it?"
"Maybe you dropped it earlier. Didn’t you say you rushed out of the one-night stand's house?" Maybe I didn’t notice it fall.
"Maybe," I replied, then opened my phone. I saw texts and missed calls from my aunt. I just messaged her saying I stayed over at Kai’s house so she wouldn't worry, and that I was on my way home. She replied quickly, telling me to be careful. I smiled—despite the hurt from my ex, there were still people who showed they cared.
My thoughts were interrupted when the car stopped. We were already in front of my house.
I invited Kai to have coffee first, but he declined, saying he needed to go home.
