Chapter Sixteen I put the business card Marly gave me into my back pocket. It upset me to think something bad might happen to her. I squelched an urge to comb my fingers through her tousled hair and hold her again, as if my arms could provide a secure blanket of protection. Yet I knew it was more. I could not diminish the intense attraction she aroused in me, but I felt it best to stop thinking about her. Before I let my imagination run wild, I picked up some paperwork left over from the previous day. As I stared at the page, the words ran together and my thoughts sharpened.
