Chapter Forty-six After another silent pause, I said good-bye and quietly replaced the phone receiver in its cradle. Marly shot me a wild questioning look and pointed at her watch. I had no idea what was happening with our show. Should I take a caller? Was it time to run an ad? I turned up the sound on my cans. Marly could sense I was lost. Never one to let dead air take over, she picked up a flyer and mentioned an upcoming poetry slam while I gathered my wits about me.
